Pretty sure Forrest Griffin wasn’t planning on fighting again anytime soon anyway.
It appears as if they forget to mention Paulo Thiago, who will be out for the next 90 days or so shooting terrorists and such…

I’ve already mentioned this numerous times I missed this card. But from everything I’ve read and from Forrests’ complaints about the fight, the travel, training, and everyone says he just didn’t seem like he was really there for the fight itself, I don’t know if he’s going to be a fighter much longer. Guy seems to have lost the desire to fight, almost seems redundant to say such a thing about Forrest Griffen but there it is. I know Forrest has been called the hardest working guy in the gym, maybe it’s starting to catch up with him and he’s getting tired of it. He also isn’t the most athletically gifted person in the world and I think he knows it, I think he knows his chances of beating many of the top guys is getting slimmer and slimmer. He probably knows he won’t hold gold again ,I mean what chance would he have against JBJ? Almost None!

Forrest’s wife was apparently going into labor Saturday night. I’m sure that made a difference in his performance as well as his mindset during the week or so he was in Brazil. Not to take anything away from Shogun’s performance, but as a father i can see how possibly missing the birth of your first born could distract you from a fight.
