i half agree with everyone. yes, espn is stupid for hyping this guy when there’s so many other better representatives they could use like st pierre, penn, silva etc. but it’s not slices fault and he’s doin what he needs to do for himself so that’s cool. callin him a role model is a bit of a strech though, he’s just a thug that got lucky. again, someone like st pierre, franklin, rampage… these are role models because they’re proven fighters that also have alot of respect outside the octagon.

ravine I agree with you 100%. Kimbo is doing the best he can and if he gets the publicity and big paydays, hey more power to him. He’s the one stepping into the ring. Everyone of you out there would be doing EXACTLY the same thing, making as much money out of this as you can. These guys only have a limited time which they can do this. I think Kimbo is a great role model, he was smart and he’s turning his youtube stuff into hopefully big paydays. I just don’t understand the animosity unless its fueled by jealousy.

Not an MMA fighter?

Dude the guys straps on his gloves like anyone else, walks down to the ring like anyone else, and throws down like anyone else who calls themselves an MMA fighter, i hate the fact that everyone pretty much hates him, but it doesnt bother me, does my heart good to know that all ya’ll haters jus hyping him up making him an even bigger star, cut the dude some slack man, liddell aint throw down with the best in the world when he was 2-0 either. this hate u harbour for these fighters is gonna be the death of this sport aslong as the ufc doesnt pull the trigger first

ESPN is f-ing STUPID! This is not the second MMA fighter on the cover of ESPN magazine! This is the FIRST time a hood street fighter has been on the cover. I am tired of going off on how Kimbo is unproven and garbage so I’ll leave it at that. What really upsets me is that the general public/average fan doesn’t understand the sport the way we do.(Those of us here and on other mma sites daily) Therefore, the average person will read about Kimbo and think they know all about an MMA star. Kimbo may fight in MMA but is not an MMA fighter.

Sherk’s results haven’t been finalized as of yet…The results will be realized next week according to the NSAC…He was tested april 22nd, along with Tito Ortiz…They further plan on testing Lyoto Machida as part of the out of competition testing policy..

Machida owned him. Before Anderson Silva came into the picture… Machida was the only one to beat him and it was a hell of a beatdown. I couldnt believe…I was sad haha. Now lets just hope he does the same to Tito.

Kimbo on ESPN mag?? Jeez…. HEY ESPN…..HE HASNT DONE ANYTHING!! Put Franklin or Silva on there….they are a little more deserving!

glad to see nick diaz back in the mix. i think franklin can bulk up a bit to where he needs to drop weight to make 205 he is a good striker with good jujitsu he can do some damage. how good was he when he was 205 before anyone know? i have only seen him beat up shamrock at 205 and that happens pretty often. also didnt lyoto machida have a win over him aswell?
