Carlos Condit Signs Contract Extension With WEC
World Extreme Cagefighting Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit (22-4) has signed a contract extension with the WEC according to USA Today. Condit had just one fight remaining on his previous contract with the promotion, which is owned by the same parent company as the UFC.
Terms of the extension were not disclosed.
Condit has emerged as one of the top welterweights in the world with notable career wins over Frank Trigg and Renato Verissimo. He has not lost a single fight since mid-2006, winning all seven fights over the near-two year span. After defeating Kyle Jensen in his WEC debut last January, Condit defeated John Alessio to claim the welterweight title at WEC 26. He has since defended his title twice with submission wins over Brock Larson at WEC 29 and Carlo Prater at WEC 32 in February.
Condit is next scheduled to fight in August.

That is good news. I like the WEC but it would have been cool to see Condit move up into the UFC. I am sure it is only a matter of time for Condit. He is badass.
ya condit is sweet. from all the billions of fights i have watched he is definatly dangerous. he is long and has good reach. and he is so dangerous off of his back. but it is good that he is staying in the WEC cause they still need to grow more
Condit’s a rising star! Smart move by the WEC to resing him because he help with their credibility. He can hold his own against anyone in the world in his weight class!
well either way the WEC is doing well and its not all built around carlos condit. after the end of this next contract i think he should move to the pros vice the semi pros he is in now. he has fought some good guys and i wouldnt take that away but if you watch the degree of which MOST ufc fighters fight it seems like he would have more challenging fights in the ufc overall i believe the fans will win. same goes for uriah faber. jens pulver will be a good test for him. look how well tyson griffen has done for himself and he has beat faber. the best thing about the wec is that its on when ufc isnt so for me a fan it gives more fights during the week
Carlos trains in Albuquerque, of course he is good. Albuquerque fighters know how to fight. Some of the best fighters in the world train in the small city of Albuquerque. Go 505.
THATS GOOD. GET A FEW MORE FIGHTS IN WEC THEN MOVE UP TO UFC AND RUN DAT ****
