Also here is how I see the division panning out Zlatko. Gonzaga vs. Couture with the loser facing Cro Cop and the winner facing Arlovski. Then, the winner of the Cro Cop follow up will get a shot at the winner of whoever Arlovski faces. We don’t know how Big Nog fits into all of this but I think he is a couple fights away from a title bout.
@ MaVeRrIcK: I think Cro Cop will adjust to the cage and still make a run at the title. This was only his 2nd fight in the UFC and it truly was a fluke kick. I’m not saying it wasn’t a complete surprise but both are experienced veterans and it was more of how the win happened for Gonzaga not that he won.
Many more great fights to come this year and early ‘08. I definitely think we will see Mirko come back from this stronger than ever eventually reaching a title bout.
that was truly an unbeleivable kick, not a fluke either…gonzaga threw that kick like he knew it was gonna land b4 he even thought of trying….cro cop is spectacular when it comes to kicks but everytime he gets on a roll someone jus knocks him out….and on that note too why did the ufc advertise that he is the most feared heavy-weight striker in the world….dont all of us hardcore MMA fans know that, the only man who can clame that title is fedor?
hahaha i also forgot to say……LMAO to all u who thought the ufc didnt stand a chance against pride…..lmao look how easy it was for a low class fighter to knock out a top notch fighter
Gonzaga low class? Not anymore that’s for sure. I think we will see quite a few upsets between Pride and UFC guys especially like this one. I am not saying Cro Cop lost because of the caged ring but you definitely use different tactics in the octagon than in a pride ring.
different tactics? c’mon kris while ur in the ring or the octagon the objective is the same…beat the livin **** outta the guy in front of…it doesnt change jus cuz theres steel links instead of ropes…i mean i can understand the difference when ur on the ground and ur up against the cage…but thats not much of a difference…like i said his objectives dont change
