He needs to lay off the BBQ at Mr Bean's.It's is right down the road from me, good food. Where's bob sapp when you need him?? So for a 3 round final there isn't any other choice but to do 1 round. I was in the first section of elevated seats and we all had to watch it on the big screens too, it was awful. Thank God I didn't have to pay for tickets or I would have been pissed. The announcer was horrible, he knows the MMA game but his adlibbing in the ring made you wonder if he was hanging out before the show and they told him your announcing tonight. You ask what the production was like, it sucked! There were several times that they panned across the stadium, which seemed very empty on tv, and showed fan reactions DURING THE FIGHTS! They would cut away and you would miss action, including a groin shot that wasnt filmed, the cameras flash back after dude is on his knees suckin wind. The announcer was Farrell, a dude well versed in sports and generally a guy i dont hate for sports, but as a live announcer he was terrible, and over a PA his voice is even worse than radio. Rounds were too short, at least the early UFC tourneys were 10 min rounds, is this a NJ Athletic commission rule? As for the ring girls, as much as we love seeing the ass, really necessary for the 1 round fights? lol. Great to see pat smith and oleg...even past their prime both are decent fighters and fun to watch. Butterbean and Ricco both are hard to watch and IMHO not good for the MMA scene. I was hoping for a more violent end to ricco in his loss Friday, lets hope he and Bean continue to flush down the toilet of low level MMA.... Any bets on the Middleweight even happening in June? At least they will have to make weight and likely will be better fights...clean up some of whats wrong with the YAMMA and the production by then or number 2 will be their last (if number 1 wasnt!). The most annoying thing for me (other than the fights) was that ring announcer, he really made me want to mute the TV! What was with his random shaking and moving back and fourth like he was being tickled? That and also his random comments and mistakes and constant cue card fidgeting. He definately needs to go!!
