“I’ve been thinking about it. It’s going to depend on the scenario. I have a lot of training partners at 185 and my weight class is 170. I would never get into the way of one of my training partners. I would never fight somebody I train with. But if one day, I have the opportunity, the way is clear, and I did everything I had to do in my division, of course I will [fight Anderson Silva].â€
Interim UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre tells MMA Weekly that he is open to fighting dominant UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva if given the opportunity.

I would pay big money to see these two gladiators go at it. I think St. Pierre versus Silva would be great for the sport. Both are such well round fighters that it would draw in more fans to the sport and existing fans would appreciate seeing this battle.
I think st pierre needs to stop looking past serra. i do think he’ll win but when he takes his eye off the ball look what happened last time! p.s. huerta vs florian has to happen!!!!!!
yes it is a fight that would be as big if not bigger than any other. lets just hope it happens one day.
This wouldb be a better fight then the Fedor V Randy fight! Man i would pay $450 just to watch this fight!
i think silva would win this fight in the second round ko.st-pierre seems like it would be a good match up with simlar styles but i think the type of fighter to finaly take out silva will another fighter like henderson,wanderlei or maybe even patrick cote if he wins his next two or three fights.

I have to agree with MJ on this one, I’d say the next person to beat silva wouldnt be st. pierre, but rather cote… he’s getting better and better every fight… never been tko’d and has huge power in his hands…
i agree, it would be hard for st pierre to win just considering the difference in height. GSP is a badass, but alot of it comes from bein alot bigger than other 170’s, so the roles would be flipped if he fought silva. plus, silva is better at striking and BJJ, so i dunno what GSP’s game plan would be. still, i would love to watch it.
Style wise I think it would be a great fight to watch. But it wouldn’t be easy for GSP to step up into a weight-class that Silva owns. I would love to see Silva fight Matt Lindland. A fight that will probably never happen cause the UFC demands their fighters to sign over their soul.
dream fight, let’s just hope it doesn’t happen too far down the road when they’re both over 40. i think one key thing everyone is missing is that GSP has been known for not having his head screwed on right before a big fight. if he did, i would love to see a 5-round war! MAKE IT HAPPEN DANA!
I’d like to see this fight happen one day, but I agree with GSP that he needs to take care of business at 170 first. I also agree with “THEDAVEB” that GSP needs to be totally focused on Serra or he will get blasted again, just like last time.
agreed that GSP has to take over the WW divison like silva did the mw divison…but after i can see this as an awesome fight, however i can put 10000 on silva 9 times out of 10. silva’s striking is second to none by a long shot. cote has heavy hands with not so fast punches against silva who has fast hands with powerful strikes…c’mon…silva hands down…the fighter to topple silva’s reign will be a fighter like henderson..had henderson not get off the gameplan he would’ve faired better…
I think it would be a better fight at 170. I think Silva has a huge advantage at 185. I dont know if Silva can fight at 170 though, he is pretty trim at 185. I think GSP bulking up would really hurt his game.
In my mind, it would be a nice fight at 177.5.
Hey Gstar Henderson was going with the gameplan till Silva kicked him in the face…A silva vs W silva is the fight I want to see!!!
Silva-GSP is a dream fight. But then again, they said that about Henderson-Silva. Mike Tyson said it best: “Everyone has a plan until they get hit”, and everyone including Henderson thought they’d be able to overpower Silva, and some of them did but ended up getting submitted or kicked in the head. GSP can’t go into this fight hoping to dominate Silva on the ground or in the stand up. I’d like to see Silva take on someone like Rampage or even Chuck.
Silva has a lot of good matches he could fight. he’s dominated the mw division so besides moving down & figthing GSP, he could move up and fight all of the top contenders at LHW. everyone of those would be blockbuster (silva vs. chuck, rampage, w.silva, shogun, forrest, jardine, machida, etc). i don’t like that he thought about boxing as if he had nothing left to do in MMA.
agreed kev it pissed me off wen silva talked about boxing, silva is great but if he really wants respect he should be asking to fight guys like gsp and makeing comments not the other way round. gsp who buy the way has got to stay focus to beat matt, serra is no joke even tho gsp should win come on this is mma nothing is for sure,any way if silva wants to be known the best step up and fight some more big names, tiargo silva needs a fight doesn’t he maybe he could step down or anderson could step up
GSP and Silva two great fighters i would love to see them scrap eachother one hell of a fight
