UFC 87: Kenny Florian vs. Roger Huerta?
Recently, UFC lightweight contender Kenny Florian has been making it well known that he wants to meet Roger “El Matador” Huerta next inside the octagon:
“Roger Huerta’s got a lot of juice right now. He’s a big name right now in the division and in the sport. And right now I’ve got a little win streak going, and I’d love to fight him. I think (Huerta’s) an exciting fighter, and those are the kind of fighters that I want to fight…And I think it would be an amazing fight for the fans. I don’t think there would be many arguments for saying the winner of that fight would be a No. 1 contender.”
Apparently Florian just may get his wish, as earlier in the week MMA Madness reported that Roger Huerta is scheduled to return to action in August at UFC 87 against a to-be-named opponent. Florian vs. Huerta is definitely a dream match up in my mind, but I guess we will have to wait and see if the powers that be make it a reality.
Fans will also get to see more of Kenny Florian at UFC 83, where he will be filling in for an absent Joe Rogan. It seems that Joe Rogan was committed to a previous engagement on that date, and so Florian will assume commentating duties alongside play-by-play announcer Mike Goldberg. This will be Florian’s second appearance in the broadcast booth following his commentating of The Ultimate Fighter 6 Finale’s main event between Huerta and Clay Guida.

I agree, That would be non-stop action and a great co-main event. I think Kenny would take Roger the distance and get the win. Mark D’ and the Sityodong guys are ruln the UFC right now.
Well i Roger needs to win to help the sport down in mexico. But man this fight is worth the $45!!!
I don’t know who the winner is going to be. If the fight goes the distance, I don’t think it’s in KenFlo’s favor. I like Roger Huerta in this fight.
after the last fight, k-flo looks like a manimal. huerta looks good too, this might be another fight of the year. i’d be happy with either one of these guys winning. I’d say that kenny prolly has a better shot of winning the belt though if the winner gets a title shot which should be the case. either way, bisping is still a fag and i hope hammil drops to 185 just to f*** with him.
Roger is my favorite fighter. At least in my top 3 favorites but Florian is bad ass. I’d love to see this fight! If anyone is going to beat either one of them right now it is each other. I am wishing and hoping!

hopefully this fight happens, i live in MN so ill for sure go to that ppv. and florian wont know what hit him cause Huerta is a damn beast when hes in the octagon.
i like both fighters, but if i had to see one win it would have to be huerta. he finds a way to win, even when he’s getting beat…signs of a true champion. i’ll pay $5 even if i only get to see this fight!

i thin kenny needs another fight b4 he gets huerta maybe kenny vs diaz i mean lauzon didnt win that show so i put diaz higher then him, so diaz an kenny makes sence to me plus kenny will get beat by either BJ or SHERK as for the BJ fight i dont no whos guna win this BJ is my 2nd fav fighter but sherk looked unstoppable b4 he got done on the drug charge, i only hope it was the drugs makeing him that good or BJ will be in for a long night, ide also like to point out i dont like sherk and if all the drug thing is true he shouldn’t be fighting,
anyway going back to the story i think roger would beat kenny who shoulda got a point taken away in th first against lauzon that was worse then lesnar’s little hit on the head, steve should never ref again after his last perfomance!

Even though he has been so good since the show, I still cant see Florian as a top contender yet… i dont know why…though he and Huerta would be a good fight….i do agree that Florian should fight Diaz 1st…but then again, when Huerta comes back he should fight a top fighter so the winner can have sherk or bj….so i guess Florian is prob the best fighter in that class thats not huertam sherk and bj…maybe huerta could fight joe daddy instead?
Mir did have a gash on the back of his head. He actually had a medical suspension from it. Though I agree he should have took a point, he was actually cut at the top of his head on the back, the rule was intended to prevent strikes to the base of the spine.
great matchup and would love to see it but huerta is the real deal… and is going to be the future in this division
Florian is good, but Huerta is great. I think that the best is yet to come from El Matador because he’s shown that he is a freak when it comes to training and that he will do whatever it takes to win inside the octagon. I don’t think that KenFlo could overcome a royal ass kicking like Huerta did in the Guida fight.

I want to see manny fight too…but not if he brings his a-hole cusin karo to the fight. I WAS a big fan of Karo but not after he was on tuf 5 and the way he acted after his last fight. I can’t repect him anymore. he gose in the same class as Bisping…the a-hole class!
Wow what a fight. Ken-Flo is no joke and Huerta is a damn good all around fighter. Money is on Ken-Flo because he will be able to take Huerta down like Guida did and win by decision. I am routing for Huerta though. Huerta is my favorite 155lb fighter and I want him to go all the way. BJ and Sherk will be an amazing fight as well. cant wait.
i’m suprised that so many don’t care for florian. the dude held his own against a roided out sherk. huerta’s great too but i don’t think he’s faced the caliber of fighter that florian is, not even when he fought guida. it’s almost a split for me but if i had to give an edge i’d say it goes to florian. i think this is the most logical fight because as deep as the 155 division is, florian has a good argument for being the 1 contender already since sherk got stripped. and lets not forget, bisping like it in the butt.

and yes, bisping is the president of the GAY FIGHTER’S SOCIETY and has even been quoted for “…liking it in the north/south position.”
i second that motion, he’s not only the president, he’s also a customer! and it’s quite possible that his bar of choice is Mr. Fister, or the Manhole.
btw, what happened to guida that made him not even get aired on the last fight night? how do you go from fight of the year to not even on tv? i understand it was a stacked card but damn, alexandar only used up 8 seconds of it.
These two match up very well in my book. I see it as a toss up fight. KenFlo has taken his game to another level. Since loosing to Sherk. If they fought today, he would be Sherk I think. I would love to see Roger-vs-Kenny…the only problem is, i think Roger already deserves a shot a the the winner of Penn-vs-Sherk. They should have the winner of that fight face Roger at UFC 87 and the winner of that fight face Kenny! I hope that’s what they do to be honest!

i’m confused…
i noticed sherk is already rumored to fight again @ UFC 87, the same card huerta is rumored to fight on. does that mean that if he beats bj then huerta won’t fight florian @ UFC 87 (keep in mind, i realize these are all jsut rumors). if that’s the case, who would be the challenger against sherk while huerta and florian fight that night?

Kelvin i hope they don’t have florian fight sherk on 87. Unless he gained godlike skills, he’s gonna get owned again. I kinda don’t like florian most of the time; right after he got annihlated* by sean sherk, in the locker room he probably said in the interview that he would take on all comers, when he just gots his ass handed to him.

my bad that was joe stevenson fighting that was fighting gibson tibeau. My bad..but i still feel the same way. Joe just fought for the title, i think he should fight maynard or even griffin.
