WEC Announces “Faber vs. Pulver” For June 1
World Extreme Cagefighting has officially announced a match between current WEC featherweight champion Urijah “California Kid” Faber, and former UFC lightweight champion Jens “Little Evil” Pulver. According to a press release distributed earlier this week, the bout will take place on Sunday, June 1, at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, CA. and will air live on the Versus network at 9 p.m. ET.
The promotion announced that WEC Bantamweight Champion Miguel Torres will also be in action that night, defending against challenger Manny Tapia.
In rumored bouts for the card, Jeff Curran will reportedly face Mike Brown, while Mike Munoz and Jose Aldo are scheduled to face to-be-named opponents in separate bouts.

I am also pulling for Jens (being from Boise and all) but Faber is a pocket Hercules. That kid is B-A-D! Hope it is a great fight and I would also like to point out that Faber has only lost 1 fight. That was to Tyson Griffin, and from what I hear, it was a CLASSIC fight. The mag I read about the fight in (FIGHT!) titled the article about the fight “The Greatest Fight Never Seen”. Does anyone know where I can find this fight, or has anyone seen it??

This should be an AWESOME fight. I can’t wait to see it. I like Jens, but I think I like Faber a little bit more. I’m pulling for Faber to win this one. Faber by a late, comeback submission in an all out war – Classic!!!
This fight is going to be great!!! I’m glad that they are putting it on over the weekend and not at 6 on a weekday!!! I rather have Faber win because im not a big fan MFS.
I think Faber wins because he is younger in his prime. I love Jens and this is one of the few matches where I feel like, “damnit! someone has to lose.” I like them both and it would be great to see Jens beat Faber but I don’t think Jens will. If Jens dies win, that is great because then we get to see a rematch and possibly more. We’ll see…..Faber will be fighting at home in this one.

i would’ve liked to see UFC pull this fight over and launch a 145 class but it’s probably best to leave it in WEC cuz this is the best thing that WEC has going and it’s helpin them gain some momentum. I think Faber takes this fight pretty easily. not to discount jens, but i think as long as Faber avoids the left, he’s got him beat. Should be great to watch though.
Oh My GOD…. I awaited this fight with baited breath but was so disappointed. It looked like the world wide wrestling conference. The California Kid was not his usual take no prisoners self with his killer elbos and awesome wrestling moves he did not have his usual killer instinct attitude. If I did not know better I would say that little evil and the Cal Kid were best of friends. I know there is no one out there that can rival the Cal Kid but you have to be kidding me by showing that staged fight on national TV. What a let down for me and my friends that gathered round the old TV for what was supposed to be a great fight. An amateur could see that the fight was being prolonged and staged to last until the fifth and final round. It was made to be somewhat close but the Kid never exploded and left us fans very disappointed…..maybe it was the Bo Derek hairdo. Maybe I could fight him if he promised to not hurt me. I know the fight was rigged because the Kid is so good that no one wants to fight him. By presenting this fiasco it looks like the crazed chimpanzee is vulnerable to a contender which is good for business but lets us fans down so much. Man what a let down. I cannot tell you how much I looked forward to the knock down drag out brawl so heavily advertised and really expected only to be left feeling that the WEC is as staged as pro wrestling. Any moron could see that this was staged for obvious reasons. I do not plan to watch cage fighting again after this…
