American Top Team fighters Gleison Tibau, Cole Miller, Ben Saunders, and UFC newcomer Steve Bruno have all been added to the UFC 86 fight card, the MMA team has announced.
The July 5th event, which is tentatively set for the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, will feature a main event light heavyweight championship bout between “The Ultimate Fighter 7″ coaches Forrest Griffin and current 205-pound champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
Tibau (15-5, 3-2 UFC) is a Brazilian veteran who has had mixed success in the UFC. In his octagon debut Tibau was defeated by Nick Diaz but quickly rebounded with unanimous decision win over Jason Dent at UFC 68 in early-2007. After picking up a win outside of the UFC, Tibau returned with back-to-back wins against Jeff Cox and Terry Etim. In his last fight Tibau was defeated via unanimous decision by Tyson Griffin at UFC 81.
Miller (13-2, 2-1 UFC) was a cast member on the fifth season of “The Ultimate Fighter”, defeating Alan Berube in the opening round of the lightweight tourney before losing to Joe Lauzon in the quarterfinals of the competition. He next posted back-to-back wins in the octagon against Andy Wang and Leonard Garcia before suffering his first UFC defeat against Jeremy Stephens in January.
Saunders (5-0-2, 1-0 UFC) appeared on the sixth season of “The Ultimate Fighter”, defeating Dan Barrera via split decision in the opening round of the welterweight competition before losing to Tommy Speer in the quarterfinals. In his official UFC debut on the finale of the sixth season, Saunders defeated Barrera again, this time via unanimous decision.
Bruno (11-3, 0-0 UFC) is a UFC newcomer who is currently riding a four-fight winning streak into his July octagon debut. A balanced welterweight fighter, Bruno defeated Young Choi, Graydon Tannas, Ho Jin Kim, and Jae Suk Lim in his last four fights, primarily in Spirit Martial Challenge in South Korea.
