Spencer Fisher Injured, Withdraws From Bout Against Aurellio [UFC Fight Night 13]
From Sherdog:
Spencer Fisher has been forced to withdraw from his April 2 UFC Fight Night bout against Marcus Aurelio, Sherdog.com learned Monday afternoon.
The popular lightweight known for his exciting style withdrew following a shoulder injury.
“Spencer is the kind of fighter who has fought plenty of fights with injuries and Marcus Aurelio is not the kind of fighter you want to fight at 80 percent,” said the native North Carolinian’s manager, Monte Cox. “He was willing to fight but we decided it just was not a smart decision.”
The fight has been removed from the official UFC Fight Night 13 card on UFC.com though no official confirmation has been given regarding the status of the fight. However, according to the report, UFC newcomer Jim Miller (10-1, 0-0 UFC) is expected to face Aurelio (15-5, 1-1 UFC) at the April 2nd, Spike TV event.

Damn, I was looking foward to hopefully seeing the king on a possible undercard. Well maybe that gives more chance to see Din or Guida.
This is one of the only things I don’t like about MMA, injurys. It does show that they (the fighters) put every ounce of themselves into their sport (ALL YEAR LONG, not just a few month season) but it also makes it hard for fans when they don’t get to see their favorite “star” fighters. I hope he gets healed up and back to 100%.
That sucks man. Spencer always puts on some great fights. It’s a good thing the rest of the card is so stacked or else this would be a big blow on the night.
Always a sad thing. Fisher is a stud…I was hoping he would climb back up the LW division…he has the talent.
big fan of the king the guy always comes out to scrap bummed hes not goona scrap but injuries are apart of this sport
Yeah, sucks. Hopefully Jim Miller will be a nice surprise.
bummer, i wonder who theyll replace him w/…
too bad the king lost to edgar cuz he’s another guy that i would love to see get a title shot. unfortunately, the lightweights have taken over in terms of the most stacked division so even as good as he is, that one loss probably takes him out of the title shot for at least 2 more fights. 155 has a ridiculous amount of talent. it would be great if they pulled in a featherweight class cuz i think alot of the 155ers could drop down. they could prolly use pulver vs faber as the launching pad too.
