Henderson also took home $60,000 for his participation in the “Fight of the Night”. Leben received a $60,000 “Knockout of the Night” bonus for his first-round TKO of Alessio Sakara.

Anderson Silva is a scum bag now! He was so nice and polite, now he wouldn’t even tap gloves with Dan. Every fighter that gets cocky, ends up having 10 times more fighters looking to beat them. Anderson is by far the most basic, boring fighter I have ever seen. Now he is even lower on my list.

  • sam says:

What!? He shook Dan’s hand instead of engaging in a stare down, when the bell rings you come out fighting. As for boring, none of his fights have made it out of the second round and they all end a different way. Who could possibly be more exciting?

  • Lord Mark says:

Yeah, what was all that **** talking after the fight. I’m definately rooting against silva from now on. (not that i’ve ever rooted for him before that fight)

  • Method Man says:

What do you want? He shook Henderson’s hand after the referee’s instructions, he bowed to all 4 sides of the arena as his name was read out, he embraced all Henderson’s corner after the fight, bowing to them.

The one thing he didn’t do was touch gloves at the start of the 2nd(?) round. He was f***ing focused! So he chose to praise Rich Franklin? He still praised Henderson as well.

As for the comment about him being basic/boring, f*** me…

  • Chris says:

I am constantly blown away by the fickleness of the people on the Internet. Jesus, did you even see the same fight? Anderson bowed to each.and.every. member of Henderson’s corner after the fight and shook their hand. And because he doesn’t fit in to what some Internet nerds opinion of sportsmanlike conduct should be he is a scumbag? WTF? And Boring? OMG, wake up and smell the talent dude. Pound for pound best fighter, period. He made Henderson look like Joe Average as he has done to everyone else. Basic and boring, dude, you have no idea what you are talking about…

  • doc says:

Silva is an artist, most of the other fighters are still just slapping paint on the barn.

Until he does something really crappy, pulls a TO or a Bode or a Vick, the guy deserves respect because he definitely gives it back to the sport.

  • kaleo says:

ANDERSON SILVA DOESNT TALK MUCH SMACK ATLEAST IN ENGLISH HE TOUCHED GLOVES WITH HENDERSON DURING THE STAREDOWN WHEN THE BELL RANG ITS TIME TO SCRAP!!! HENDERSON WAS TALKING TOO MUCH SMACK AND THATS WHY WHEN THE BELL RANG SILVA WAS EAGER TO COME OUT AND LET HIS FIGHTING SPEAK FOR ITS SELF AS FOR SILVA BEING A BORING FIGHTER BRA COME ON NOW ARE YOU SERIOUS THE MAN IS THE CHAMP AND I REALLY DONT SEE ANY MIDDLEWEIGHT EVEN GIVING HIM A CHALLENDGE NOT OKAMI OR BISBING OR EVEN FRANKLIN I THINK HE NEEDS TO MOVE UP TO 205 AND MAYBE SOMEONE IN THAT WEIGHT CLASS COULD POSSIBLY GIVE HIM A FIGHT THAT MIGHT MAKE IT PASS THE SECOND ROUND

  • manley says:

anderson silva is not the best fighter in the world in any sence of the title… “best fighter in the world” if he faught like henderson did (switching weight classes) he wouldn’t last one f****** fight! sure he’s a good fighter.. but he’s not a great fighter! his record isn’t anything to really boast about and his ground game is definately something to work on. a fighter in mma who doesn’t have complete full circle fighting skills isn’t meant to last in this sport.

  • MMAN says:

Manley get a clue! No ground game? He is a BBJ. He submitted Hendo is one of the best forces on the ground. He is the real deal and will soon prove that even more when he competes in two weight division; 185 and 205.

  • JEL says:

ANDERSON SILVA IS THE REAL DEAL! he’s a black belt in bjj and muay tuay. his strikes are deadly accurate and forceful and his submissions are deadly as well. hendo’s tongue looked like a dart that was going to come flying out before he submitted. silva has taken those who were thought to be the best, and made them look average!

  • jake says:

i think that anderson is going to be tranning very very hard to win the fight and i think that both guys are going to give it there all and that anderson is going to go home with a BIG W!!!!!

  • gary says:

Manley go and ask 10 true mma fans or mma fighters who the number 1 fighter in the world is and I guarantee Anderson Silvas name will be mentioned the most.

  • tincann says:

Most of these yahoos don’t know what they’re talking about. Just because your “Boy” didn’t win or has’nt gotten a recent title shot doesn’t give you the right to rag on Silva. He’s an excellent technician that STILL has’nt had a fight make it past the 2nd round sinc he came to the UFC. This was ’supposed’ to be a real test for him, but he just did what he’s been doing since he got there, WIN.

  • Nutter says:

    Anderson Silva
    $140,000 Show
    $70,000 Win
    $60,000 Fight of the Night
    $60,000 Submission of the night
    ———————————
    $330,000 Total

This doesn’t include discretionary bonuses dealt out by the UFC, sponsorship pay, or Pay Per View sales percentages that he may get.

Not bad for less than 10 minutes of work.

  • Cassius Marcellus says:

It’s funny how emotion get in the way of logic. Some yahoo wrote Silva is “not a great fighter”. Say no to drugs.

  • Justin says:

To anyone who thinks Silva is not a great fighter, point blank stop watching this sport right now. You hillbillies are all on his case because he beat dan henderson (an American Olympian) and because he has to have an interpreter during interviews. Silva is poetry in motion, graceful rage, with the accuracy of Lee Harvey Oswald. He’s easily the most impressive fighter to watch. As far as him not being a good sport, I would probably be in a sour mood in the post fight interview too after Dan Henderson spent the better part of a round with his hand over my mouth trying to restrict my breathing. Its not illegal but I’m sure it would piss a guy off.
