everything sits right with that fight. hendo was beaten fair and square! on both occasions hughes penn and this one hughes and hendo were both caught hard in the standup before the submission. hendo was caught and admitted he was a bit dazed on the floor. sometimes people have just gotta say best man won and give the winner credit instead of questioning a win and looking for excuses.

Eric i could have sworn i wrote that article. Those are the exact same feelings i had with the Henderson Silva fight. To see Dan just quit that easily is really a tough to understand. It reminded me of the Penn Hughes fight were Hughes just rolled into the choke and basically gave up and then he talked about wanting someone else have the torch because he was tired of all the pressure. Im a huge Henderson fan as well as Silva but to me something just isn't sitting right with me after watching that match.

WoW...I mean to say I'am disappointed in Hendos performance would be an understatement.I have followed his career for some time.Personally this was no where the best of his capabilities in or out the cage.I'am not taking any thing away from Sider he's never let any viewer done when he's on the card.Certainly Dan knows what he can and cannot do in a fight. But this in the biggest picture was not his best.I would though like to see him stay at this weight. You hav'nt seen the last of this guy trust me.But again as always,Spider an incredible fighter not only to watch, but to how he conducts himself outside the ring.

yes i can imagine that some of them are and some arnt just like im sure all the gracies are not cocky and think they are the best, all i was pointing out was that you cant just put everyone in the same catagory just cos they wear a name like militich or gracie.and being a farmer is no excuse for acting like a tool like hughes has at times.

Hey belly....have you ever met a farmer? They think one way and everyone else is wrong. Matt Hughes falls into the catagory of a farmer. I have met many MFS fighters and trust me...they are all down to earth. Some of the nicest people you will meet.

On a writing note, a consensus, by its nature, is always general. Making the phrase 'general consensus' a tautology (say the same thing twice).

I will agree with some of the others, although not necessarily with their delivery, that your editorial seems too heavily slanted towards Hendo.

In fact, it appears so biased, it makes me completely discard the speculative excuses you're offerring for Henderson's performance. Put some meat on those bones or put'em in the trash pile.

To me, your editorial revolves around the presumption that Henderson's ground game was/is superior to Silva's. While the ground game is Hendo's bread and butter, it's not been demonstrated that his ground game was that markedly superior to the Spider's.

In fact, it can be argued that their respective ground games might be closer in skill level than you're willing to admit or even that Silva might be slightly better off his feet than Dan is.

I can't help but notice that Silva's fights tend to run in similar vein as GSP's, in that he beats fighters at their respective strengths. Strikers like Franklin and Leben, get out-struck. Ground guys, like Lutter and Hendo, get taken out on the ground. (Which is not to say the aforementioned fighters are strictly one dimensional, but have notable areas of expertise).

-Justjoe-....I hear ya dude! I feel the same way about Gracie fighters.. haha. They are cocky fighters under the radar and think they are the best fighters in the world. I love the Militech Gracie fued. I also loved it when Hughes Pounded Gracie out. What I like about Militech is these fighters are all so down to earth. I am hoping to have an interview posted soon with Pat Militech himself soon....but he is a busy man! haha.

For those who think Matt Serra win over GSP was a fluke, be prepared for another fluke. I predict Serra winning in their rematch.
