Though Couture, at 45-years-old, has many factors working against him including age, size, speed, and athletic ability the UFC heavyweight champion has a significant advantage in experience and I think he’s able to craft a gameplan to defeat Lesnar. In MMA anything can happen and if there’s one thing I’ve learned in my time as a fan and blogger of the sport it’s Couture’s ability to overcome the odds time and time again. Couture’s shown he can defeat bigger opponents and though Lesnar is the biggest fighter he’ll have faced in his professional career, cutting to make the 265-pound limit, I think Couture survives an early onslught and TKO’s Lesnar in the championship rounds.
I’m right with you. I have a 4th round TKO. Eventually Randy’s gonna take him down. I have a big problem believing he’s skilled enough on the ground to stop Randy from having his way with him on the canvas.
What about a fantasy pickem league on this site??
Patrick, thats a good value bet right there. I just wish you had Riley instead of Gurgel. Riley is a tough bastard.
I no riley is a tough mo fo but grugels black belt jui jitsu n improved stand up and did u see his ufc interview about his loss to cole miller sed tht was the first time hed eva been depressed n he neva gets caught in triangles, i see a focused n dangerous grugel winning tht, ive got lesnar in the main event hes gunna be 50lbs heavier thts randy vs bj penn thts the wieght differnece i think its just to much, just my opinion
Why isn’t anyone talking about the Maia Quarry fight. I think this one could be the most interesting of the night!
I’m predicting Couture via TKO in the championship rounds and here’s my reasoning: Couture, at 45-years-old, has many factors working against him including age, size, speed, and athletic ability the UFC heavyweight champion has a significant advantage in experience and I think he’s able to craft a gameplan to defeat Lesnar.
I agree Ethan, Quarry-Maia is a very interesting fight that’s going to come down to Quarry’s ability to defend the takedown and submission and Maia’s ability to keep him to the ground and not be baited into a standup fight.
An MMA fantasy sports league is something we’re working on, but I’d estimate it won’t be ready until early next year.
Ethan, I like both fighter and Quarry can ko Maia I believe I also thing that when Maia takes the intial onslaught he will clinch pull guard and pull a triangle for the victory against Quarry…. Which is unfortunate because I believe Quarry can mean something in this division but I do believe that Maia BJJ is better than Quarry’s standup/ko power
Randy, my prayers are with you!!!!
I don’t think Brock deserves to fight randy yet.
I hope for randy’s win, but…. it doesnt seem likely to me. Brock is just too darn big. I see this similar to the heith herring match.
but… miracles do happen. go randy!!!
I WANT TO SEE KIMBO VS. LESNAR!!!
WHO IS WITH ME ON THAT!!!! WHO SHOULD WE ‘CAMPAIGN” TO SEE SUCH FIGHT???
Kevin Ferguson would get absolutly destroyed by Lesnar, Kevin should go fight Bob Sapp there is a very very very small oppritunity for Kevin to make it to the UFC Eddie Sanchez would beat Kevin Ferguson imo
Photo shop Kimbo’s face on Heath Herring, and fast forward through the fight in about 10 seconds if that’s what you want to see, because that’s what would happen.
I’d rather see Kimbo vs Iron Mike.
The Quarry Maia fight boils down to takedowns. I will be very interested to see what happens, but I also think Maia will submit at somepoint. If he wins this fight I think Maia has earned a title shot. Although who does he train with in Rio? Is he a Chute Box guy?????? I swear I saw Wandi in his corner once.
maia trains with the wand fight team in vegas…but if maia does win then he should have to fight the winner of okami/lister….which if lister won would be a great match…lister/maia is like a dream match to me…what a crazy submission match that would be and i do believe lister will beat okami
No I believe he gets a work visa from the US and he comes and trains with Wanderlei when he can perhaps he is working on a dual citizenship I dunno but he trains with Wanderlei
*side note*
I sent a e~mail to the StrikeForce company, explaining my situation with my friends (3rd degree burns 95% of his body) and that their show is 1year 1month 1day since his fire, informed them that I by no means am asking for charity I just want to suprise him by taking him to the show, ticketmaster.com asks for extreme info for their handicapped seats (wouldn’t be much of a suprise if he knows he’s going so I can’t exactly get the info) Dan Gurierrez (I believe) e~mailed me and left all his contact info cell, business, fax, business e~mail and personal e~mail and stated that he really wanted to help in anyway him and the org can.. Its great personally that a large co would hear from a little guy and actually go out of his/their way… Much respect for StrikeForce and Dan thought I would share that, cheers
