- Base salary figures have already been released for Randy Couture and Brock Lesnar, which indicate both fighters are guaranteed $250,000.
- BJ Penn thinks that the winner of his bout with Georges St. Pierre should be considered the best pound-for-pound fighter.
- Ironically enough, cable network Showtime has opted to produce and distribute Affliction’s upcoming pay-per-view “Day Of Reckoning” on January 24th.
- Affliction has also confirmed the following bouts for “Day Of Reckoning.” Matt Lindland vs. Renato Sobral (at light-heavyweight), Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Vladimir Matyushenko, and Paul Buentello vs. Kiril (Baby Fedor) Sidelnikov.
- Adrenaline MMA’s next event is set to showcase Pat Miletich’s return to competition, as well as former IFL champion Ben Rothwell, Thomas Denny, and Mike Russow.

- Dana White is considering promoting Gina Carano vs. Cris Cyborg in the WEC.
- Former EliteXC lightweight champion K.J Noons returned to boxing on Thursday, defeating Alejandro Bograin via unanimous decision.
- Kazushi Sakuraba vs. Kiyoshi Tamura and Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante vs. Joachim Hansen have been announced for K-1 Dynamite 2008 on New Year’s Eve.











I LIKE THE SOUNDS OF THE AFFLICTION CARD . THE wec HAS SOME GOOD STUFF COMING AND THEY WOULD BE SMART TO USE THE WEC FOR WOMENS MMA DIVISION .
Cyborg lookse like a talented striker like any other fighter out of Chute Box in Brazil, i think she is too much for Gina to handle. Gina is a good straight forward striker but Cyborg looks like a much more seasoned dangerous threat. I want to see it happen.
Interesting that Dana is considering picking up that womens fight for the WEC after talking about “we’re not going to have women in the UFC”
