Dude randy looked shredded and from what MIR and BONNAR were saying, his strategy to beat brock sounds like a very good one. He basically weighd in @ 220 on purpose to push the pace of the fight and make brock chase him into the later round so he can gas. I like this gameplan.

I’d like it more if brock wasn’t in awesome shape too. I just think randy’s return will end up being his 2nd retirement. Brock is too much dude.

    other fights-

    florian

    quarry

    gonzaga

    hazelett

    stephens

  2. ramdoc says:

i agree man. I have questioned couture b4 but brock is a beast. I seriously believe that that scale is fixed b/c hes close to 300lbs come fight time. Believe the hype!

  3. Vinz C1ortho says:

A fighter can drop 16-20ish pounds in water alone for weigh ins and then put it back on overnight. He “weights in” at 265 but probably fights around 280/285 :D

Still I’m going to Couture victory via heel kick to the knee cap round 1. lawl.

  4. NICO says:

Randy all the way. I have to much Heart for this sport to pic Brock because he has not done what Randy has done. I know he is a freak of nature with his size and still manages to stay in increadible shape, but he has two fights in the UFC and one of them was a loss. I don’t belive he really deserves this shot at the title quite yet but im not complaining I cant wait to see the fight. I want Fedor in the UFC. That man can do some Damage and i wonder what he is thinking tomorrow night when he watches this fight. Come on Fedor.. Come on UFC… Please make a deal. Do it for the fans…
Ohh ya and I think Kenny wins by split and Gonzaga KO’s him in the second.

  5. jwilly84us says:

Randy looks to thin. Brock looks in great shape and I think Randy will not have the strength to inflict much damage. I expect Brock to impose his will early on and end the fight in the second round if not sooner. This looks more like a Grande Prix event than a heavyweight title match.

  6. Fr702 says:

Its offical its going to happen

BarnCat v McLovin best nickname fight in recent memory while Dbiz is attempting to be released by a gaucamoleplata, I should be ducking a bourbon spinning backfist enjoying the pure entertainment of Randy “The Natural”,”Captain America”Couture v Brock “for some reason I have a cok on my chest”, “vanilla gorilla” Lesnar

    I stand by my picks

  7. justin says:

Brock said on first take on ESPN2 today that he expects to walk into the octagon at 277.
Its a sword…but yeah, doesn’t look great. But think about it, with a name like “Brock Lesnar” do you really need a nick name? Forrest doesn’t have one either, or Matt Hughes (I think). What other, big name, fighters don’t have nick names?

  8. Fr702 says:

Evans? Mir? Ricksonn,Royce,Renzo? Tanner (rip),Machida? Hunt? Schilt?

And ya I knew it twas a sword

  9. justin says:

Ya, I knew you knew it was a sword.

“Sugar” Rashad Evans. The rest I think you’re right about. I just think its funny that there’s people fighting for championships that don’t have nicknames, but some of the up and comers on TUF feel like they have to have a nickname. I don’t think I’d want one. Of course the last nickname I had, which really didn’t even stick, was sunshine because I had long hair when I played football.

  10. Fr702 says:

Shhhiiittt I forgot about “Sugar” damn u Justn good catch

Sunshine as in the guy from TAPOUT gotta ask are him haha

When I did Muay Thai I never ever wanted a nickname nor did I receive one thankfully

There are some absolutly some great nicknames out there and some are legendary ie Iceman, Axe Muderer, Rampage, Twinkle Toes, McLovin ect

  11. justin says:

Sunshine as in the quarterback from Remember the Titans.

About the good nick names: Valid. But then you have guys like “the Crippler”, and “the Punisher” that are mediocre fighters, and you’ve got “the spider” and “da spider”. Jackson is more often referred to as Rampage than Quinton Jackson, so he’s the one that goes by his nickname the most.

  12. Fr702 says:

    Aw remember the titans gotcha

Ya with the Rampage thing I agree other notables in that area are Cro Cop, Tank Abbott ect

  13. drightler says:

    Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida
    Semmy “Hightower” Schilt

  14. Fr702 says:

Drightler…. Good calls my man… Getting caught slipin owell, cheers

  15. justin says:

Nice work drightler. Guess we kinda highjacked this thread so….yeah every body made weight, that’s good.

  16. JustJoe says:

My nick name in football was the ketchup man, because i share the same last name as the ketchup mogul lol. (no relation)

  17. Fr702 says:

    Usually happens Justin

Having the nickname ketchup in football is quite humorious yet well your last name being Heinz (I assume) makes total sense

All did make weight Quarry looked Fing ripped, Hendricks lumps are um odd but he past tests forsure, Randy looked “small” but hell he is fighting Brock soo he is going to look small perhaps he is going with the lean and mean theory??

  18. grey419 says:

    “Sugar” Rashad Evans
    Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida
    Semmy “Hightower” Schilt.

  19. justin says:

Yeah, Quarry did look ripped. Stephens looked bigger than Dos Anjos. Hendricks lumps looked really odd, who knows what that’s from. Joe ‘Daddy’ looked huge for 155 but he usually does. Randy did look a little small, especially standing next to Brock. I think Joe ‘Daddy’’s arms and shoulders may be close to the same size as Randy judging from the pictures, but pictures lie sometimes. Especially when they’re not standing next to each other in the same picture.

  20. dbiz says:

    “gaucamoleplata”

FR, I am going to slap that on during the first fight, in your honor. I SALUTE YOU, SIR!

  21. Fr702 says:

    Dbiz, I thankyou sir

  22. Gmen says:

    Brock will destroy randy

  23. Gmen says:

    2nd round brock ko randy.

  24. timcat says:

Ok guys here are my picks on the fights.

    Lesnar by GNP round 3
    Joe Daddy by dec.
    Gonzaga by armbar round 1
    Maia by RNC round 1
    McCrory by dec
    Gurgel by dec
Jeremy Stephens by TKO round 2
    Robinson by dec
    Brown by KO round 3

Thats it, those are absolute locks. Put your money on it.

  25. Ralph says:

Heath Hearing was 28-13-0, 6′4″, 250lbs when he met Lesner and was mauled from start to finish. I’m betting it’ll be a bit one sided when Lesner fights Couture.

  26. Pride says:

NICO, Brock said he doesn’t deserve a shot it was handed to him by dana white are you telling me if someone came up to you and asked if you wanted a title shot you’d say no, give me a break dude you would take it in a heart beat I know I would.
Yes randy has way more experience but sometimes size and athleticism is more important then experience, remember experience means age and well randy is old, don’t get me wrong hes still ONE of the best HW in MMA, but we will see tonight if hes still the best, I take lesner 2nd RD not gonna say how hes gonna win well we all know it probably won’t be by submission…lol and he won’t gas hes in amazing shape for a guy his size

  27. gunslinger says:

ya hes in shape till he cant take randy down and until he gets jacked up in the clinch …brock has no chance of beating randy and brock is a turd for this sport i believe and so do alot of fighters…he is ****y arrogant and already thinks he is the greatest hw ever…but just wait even if brock does somehow win he will lose to however wins the nog/mir fight by first round sub!…..brocks good but i dont think he will be good enough for a championship till he fights and acts like a champ and starts respecting his opponents and stops yelling can you see me now on national television….theres plenty of hw that would give lesnar problems in the ufc and here they are…..randy-to experienced, to well rounded, game plans are the best in the world, evberyone says the old mike tyson quote-”everyone has a game plan until they get hit” well guess what randy gets hit all the time but guess what he sticks to his gamepla..plus its different in boxing than in mma ..your limited in what you can do in boxing…back to what i was saying- mir/nog/gonzaga/dos santos and werdum would all sub lesnar easily….then you have cain who would tko lesnar…..then you got shane carwin the person brock should be fighting, the real best hw fight the ufc has right now …guys who are completly the same almost except one thing shane carwin..has better mma experience, is a better boxer, is bigger than lesnar…if lesnars hands are frying pans guess what carwins are bigger so they have to be like microwaves……also carwin is just as good as a wrestler as lesnar and would beat him everywhere….carwin is like what lesnar will be in a couple years..he is the already developed lesnar..he is the future not lesnar..and that fight would be sick….randy will win tonight, not saying lesnar wont put up a good fight but he wont win…randy will show dana why lesnar should be fighting smaller guys still not getting a title shot..that he does not deserve and i can say if dana white called me today and said hey you want a title shot i would say hell no…no way am i ready for that kind of competition…anyone here who says they would are liars because they would get ko in probably about 1.5 seconds

  28. JustJoe says:

I just hope Brock vs Randy makes it past the first round . I don’treally have a favorite here, just want to see a good fight.

  29. justin says:

    gunslinger,
Normally I respect what you have to say, and agree with you, but I think you went overboard bashing Brock here.
“he is ****y arrogant and already thinks he is the greatest hw ever” - Yeah, that’s why he said he didn’t think he deserves a title shot yet.

Something interesting that I don’t know if you guys realize this, Brock said, about the fight with Heath Herring “That was a lot of fun, the most fun I’ve had in a long time, I didn’t want it to end.” So for all those people that say Brock can’t finish, maybe he was having so much fun completely dominating Heath Herring, especially after the way Heath Herring bad mouthed him before the fight, that he didn’t want to finish it, he wanted to keep embarrassing and pounding on the guy with the body shots. Just a thought.
