Shaun White is the man, glad Dana agrees. I guess the UFCs contract with Xyience is up since Dana was drinking the EAS, which I recognized as soon as I saw the purple box. That’s pretty cool that we saw Dana hanging out with pro skaters, Anthony Kiedis, and the crew from interscope in one video.
Sounded like licensing to play his music for guys’ intro. I too am interested in more of the details, but the videographer intelligently quit recording during the meat of the conversation.
i hope they dont replace all the fighters entrance music with 50 cent’s 2nd rate raps. I love hearing the fighters own entrance music, its what i determine who i want to win if i don’t know the two fighters.
The Dj was the one and Only Jason Ellis from Faction radio from Sirius Sat. Radio. Jason is one of the reasons I have Sirius. Dana if you ever read any of this why is Lesnar getting a shot at Randy it makes no sense with a 1/1 record. Plenty of other fighters that should have a title shot before Lesnar. I know why its so you can get the wrestling fans to watch and your banking on the old man to loose but dont ever count out Randy he beat the hell out of 2 of your heavies before he left. Give them hell Randy.
Justin,
Yeah that’s pretty much what I gathered. No specifics though. I just hope it wasn’t some deal to exclusively use 50’s tracks or 50’s artists on intros. 3 6 Mafia and Hypnotized Minds would be a much better choice.
I doubt that Dana would make a deal to only have 50’s songs or artists on intros. There’s a lot of people that come out to rock, and a lot of viewers that like rock, as well as other forms of music. It would be a dumb move to only go to one artist/style of music. I would never listen to an intro again if they only had 50 and his artists.
it could have been about using his music for the new ufc game guys as you can see nov 10th he went to see 50 then on november 11th he went to THQ to see how the game was going..i bet it was about using his music as a song on the ufc 2009 undisputed soundtrack.
The announcer at the beginning when they were showing the skateboarding sounded like Joe Rogan and I swear I heard him say that Shawn White was going for a kimura.
Isn’t it kind of funny how the handshake/hug combination has seeped its way into acceptability for white guys like Dana, the DJ, and Wandy.
50 Cent needs subtitles. Or maybe better sound quality. Or maybe both.
Fighters get to choose their own intros, but the UFC can override their decision. I saw Dana talking somewhere, it may have been a video blog but I’m not sure, about the ProElite paying guys to stand thing, and he said “The furthest we might go in telling a guy how to fight is ‘No you’re not coming out to that song, we want you to come out to this song.’” So, the fighters get to make the initial pick, but if the UFC doesn’t like it, they change it.
nothing better than chillin with some rap producers and drinking tea.
GANGSTA
Long but cool video

I’d really like to know what kind of deal 50 and Dana were talking about.

I like these Blogs, i can do without Half Dolla.
Who was that radio dj Dana was talking to? He was pretty funny.

Thanks for the info.

Agreed, but don’t the fighters choose their own intros? So what else could that meeting have been about?

Good call about the game. That’s probably what it is.
