Nate Diaz Likely To Fight at UFC 94

By: Kris Karkoski (admin) | Oct 29, 2008

Nate DiazRising UFC lightweight Nate Diaz, the winner of the fifth season of The Ultimate Fighter, will likely return to action at UFC 94, according to GracieFighter.com.

Diaz was originally slated to meet fellow lightweight contender Clay Guida in his next bout, potentially in December on Spike TV, but the matchup was scrapped after Guida suffered a foot injury in his recent win over Mac Danzig.

Diaz will instead return at UFC 94, but an opponent has not yet been determined for the bout, though, depending upon the severity of the injury, Guida remains a likely possibility.

A winner of five-straight contests, Diaz has racked up victories over Manny Gamburyan, Junior Assuncao, Alvin Robinson, Kurt Pellegrino, and Josh Neer since mid-2007.

The UFC welterweight title will be on the line in the UFC 94 main event, as UFC 170-pound champion Georges St-Pierre rematches 155-pound title-holder BJ Penn on January 31st at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

I’de like to see him revenge his loss against hermes if he can’t fight guida. If he does fight guida i have a feeling he’ll get out worked and lose by decision.

  5. D-BOI says:

  6. surfingk5 says:

I think Nate will win by submission or lose by decision…how’s that for taking sides.

Nate is as under-rated as Bisping is over-rated!!! Right???? jerks

  7. DR.DOOM says:

Nate has some slick escapes …. hard to secure locks on those long limbs .he needs a few more bouts and years to get into championship form …he’s still basically a kid .But look at what he does and how much more he will be able to do …both of the diaz brothers IMO. Not everyone can rush the ladder of success .

  8. dbiz says:

He’s got decent jujitsu against strikers. I wanna see how he does against someone with a good ground game.

  9. johnboy says:

diaz is the man, i think he’d take clay!

I think it would be a great fight. Contrasting styles…Nate is mentally tougher and smarter than his brother. I think he’s going to continue to do well.

Guida will be too much for Diaz to cope with.
