Preliminary UFC 91 Drug Tests Come Back Negative

Preliminary steroid and drug tests on six fighters scheduled to compete on November 15th at UFC 91 in Las Vegas have all come back negative, according to Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer.
Tested by the NSAC were Randy Couture, Brock Lesnar, Nick Catone, Amir Sadollah, Aaron Riley and Jorge Gurgel.
Traditionally, random fighters are tested for drugs and steroids immediately following the completion of their bouts, however, Nevada became one of the first states earlier this year to approve random preliminary drug screenings of fighters prior to fight night.

I know the testin is random but was it really necessary to test the weakness that is Jorge Gurgel?
Maybe after Jorge was tested he was given a prescription for some???
“the weakness that is Jorge Gurgel” Maybe that’s why they tested him, they thought maybe he’d be trying to fix that.
Thats great KOuch. hahahaha
im not an expert on steroids, or even have real common knowledge about them, or the testing policies of the ufc. is there any further testing, before or after the event? it’s a little over 3 weeks until the event. that seems like a long time for someone reap the benefits of steroid usage. can steroids take effect in that time period?
arod,
they can have some affect in that period, but not a lot. They do test them at the time of the event. This is actually new testing added to the existing time of event testing.
