The UFC 89 main card also includes Brandon Vera vs. Keith Jardine, Luiz Cane vs. Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, Chris Lytle vs. Paul Taylor, and Marcus Davis vs. Paul Kelly.

ROUND-BY-ROUND
MICHAEL BISPING VS. CHRIS LEBEN (In progress…)
Round 1 — Leben is agresive early working hard leg kicks. More kicks from “The Crippler” then Bisping fires back but Leben counters. Solid left by Bisping followed by a knee to the body. Leben fires back with more leg kicks. Bisping catches a kick and returns a kick to the body. Hard left by Leben but Bisping connects with a combo. Leben is bleeding from his nose but connects with a good combo against the fence. A pair of rights by Bisping connects. Leben connects late with a left. It’s a very close round, but MMAFrenzy.com scores it 10-9 Bisping.
Round 2 — Bisping is more aggressive to start the second, but Leben tags him with a left and knee. Bisping continues to avoid and counter. Accidental low kick by Leben temporarily halts the bout. They touch gloves and we’re back underway. Leben and Bisping trading punches. Solid leg kicks from Leben. Bisping catches a kick and counters with a punch. Bisping connects with some jabs but Leben finishes strong with punches and has Bisping on his toes. MMAFrenzy.com scores another close round 10-9 Bisping.
Round 3 — Big left by Leben connects in the opening seconds, but Bisping has to take a break after getting sweat in his eyes. It’s momentary and we quickly resume. Bisping and Leben trade kicks. Good left by Leben followed by a kick to the body. Leben catches a kick and throws another left. Surprisingly, Leben takes Bisping to the mat and connects with punches. They get back to their feet and Bisping fires back. Bisping continues to successfully evade and counter, avoiding Leben’s knockout power. Leben pours it on late and taunts Bisping to engage but its likely too little, too late. MMAFrenzy.com scores the round 10-9 Leben, but the fight goes to Bisping 29-28.

No chance that happening, Bisping is way way overated.
Chris Lytle has to be the most talented fighter who has terribly underachieve in the welterweight division. He’s so talented, but when he takes a step up in competition, he falls flat. Lytle does put on show when he fights. Should be interesting against Paul Taylor.

yeah yeah bisping is way overrated 16-1 is a way overrated record i mean most fighter have that record, u guys are so right again bisping doesn’t deserve to be in the ufc he should be in elite with the rest of the jokers, i mean he only won TUF and his only loss is to the guy who will next fight for the ufc LHW belt but no u guys are right he sucks!

Chris Leben is going to KO Bisping i am willing to bet on it right now, Bisping will not be able to handle the pressure of fighting someone like Leben in the main event of his home country. He will be to scared to strike the only way Bisping wins is if he sleeps on Leben. Ill bet on that any day
yeah bisping is terrible if you don’t like watching a fighter who comes in with a solid game plan every time, and then does what he can to get the fans into it. If that’s the case yeah he is terrible and overrated…

the only way bisping will get KO’d is if he makes the mistakes Terry Martin(thinking leben was done) and Alessio Sakara(trying to trade punches with out playing defense) made. Honestly, I see more of a KenFlo vs Huerta fight, where bisping plays it smart and gets aggressive when he can but not expose himself to the big KO. I’m thinking unanimous decision 29-28 bisping if he plays it smart.

All the Bisping haters can not say that Leben won that fight. I give Leben a lot of respect tonight. But lets face it guys, he didn’t come to fight. It seemed to me he was there to make up the numbers. Very one dimensional.
Bisping executed a perfect game plan of Stick and Move. It was the best way to fight a One Hit Wonder like Leben.
I DO NOT want to see Bisping vs Silva tho! No one is ready for that guy, especially Bisping.
I had it the same as two of the Judges, 30-27. God knows how anyone could have comfortably said that Leben took one of those rounds. i would have given the last round even if anything.
When I saw Bisping stop because he had something in his eye, I was like “Get back in there and fight you ****”. I believe it wasn’t sweat though but a clump of Vaseline. At the time of that very brief stoppage, neither man was attacking so what does it matter. It also gave Leben a breather.
God knows how anyone can hate Bisping in this fight. He showed that he was fight smart. Both Men were respectful and the right man won on the night. What more can anyone say.
I was there live tonight in the 8th Row and it was the worst UFC that I have ever attended. Seemed very dull.

I agree with everything you just said, apart from Paul Tayler being fat. lol I thought he looked pretty lean. I thought that Paul Kelly looked fat though. What a dull fight that turned out to be.
