Drew McFedries Tapped To Fight Thales Leites at UFC 90

By: Kris Karkoski (admin) | Oct 13, 2008

Drew McFedriesDrew McFedries has agreed to replace Goran Reljic and fight middleweight contender Thales Leites on short notice at UFC 90 on October 25th in Chicago, Illinois.

Sources confirmed the replacement with MMAFrenzy.com earlier today.

Reljic was forced to withdraw from the bout yesterday after suffering a back injury.

McFedries, a member of Miletich Fighting Systems, is an even 3-3 inside the octagon with wins over Alessio Sakara, Jordan Radev, and Marvin Eastman and losses to Martin Kampmann, Patrick Cote, and ,most recently in September at UFC Fight Night 15, Mike Massenzio.

After dropping his UFC debut to Martin Kampmann in late-2006, Leites has won four-straights fights, including a controversial split decision win over Nate Marquardt in June that saw Marquardt dominate the bout but lose two points, and ultimately the decision, due to illegal strikes.
