i think there tryin to send a message to huerta. there tryin to show him that in reality they dont need huerta to get people to watch. me personally i like huerta and i love seein him fight. granted he hasnt beaten a top lightweight but still hes one of the most exciting guys to watch in the most exciting division.

What I don’t understand is, he’s still got a contract, obviously (considering his upside) when that contract is up the UFC will look at renegotiating, and he’ll probably be able to negotiate for more money than he got just coming in to the UFC, but he can’t expect BJ Penn money when he hasn’t earned it. I can see where the UFC is coming from in terms of not having guys mouth off in interviews. That stuff is best handled behind closed doors. Some of these fighters act like they’re some big NBA star or something where they can go out in the media and make claims and then get their way with the organization, the problem is MMA is not big enough for these guys to have enough star power to dictate to the organization what to do. This is a case where having other promotions can be a two edged sword for these guys. Yes they can threaten that X organization will pay them money hoping the UFC will match it, but they might get told to go fight for that organization, then have that organization fold up, and then they can’t get back into the UFC. Or that organization might decide they’re not interested in them.

So, so unfortunate Roger thinks so highly of himself. He hasn’t earned the right to be the “bad boy” (Tito’s replacement). He also used to be one of my favorites. That’s what happens when a fighter starts to think on his own.

Huerta just needs to realize that his only “big” win was against Guida(in the UFC) , and that he doesn’t deserve BJ Penn type money for his efforts sure if he wins his next match (which I believe is his last on his contract) then Dana will offer him a new one, he signed his original contract and now he is un happy and deserves BJ Penn type money, ehh not so much Mr.Huerta

Huerta sounded off in FIGHT! Magazine about his displeasure about compansation and such.. Which has always beem a no no with the UFC, also he stated that he fights for him and has to look out for himself yada yada, many points of his statements I did agree with yet on others he came across as a selfish young guy who needed to be humbled a bit and then he fought KenFlo and perhaps was, super talented iam a fan of his he has a great underdog story sooo I guess time will tell where he ends up

I didn’t hear about Huerta’s problems with the UFC, hopefully they can get that sorted out. He’s a good fighter, and the UFC really wants to have a good Hispanic fighter to promote, and he could fill that role.

@Kris, I understand where you are coming from just thought I would put that out there.. Not so sure that Huerta is definate to be cut but he has ran his mouth about the UFC which isn’t the best thing to do.. But “star power” has kept people in the UFC before ie Tito Ortiz…

Yeah, having several fights including a five-rounder go to decision is definitely in play here but given how close the UFC is with Spike I have a feeling they could have fit the fight in if they really wanted to. I think it was a combination of time considerations and not wanting to promote Huerta that ultimately led it to be cut out.

Or, the fact that with commercials GSP v Fitch was a hour + then the Huerta KenFlo fight was 30 minutes +, Brock v Herring was the same sooo right there u have two + hours and only three fights (commercials cause this) to the casual fan that would take forever furthermore the UFC is trying to hype up a guy named Brock Lesnar to the casual fan for his upcoming fight against Randy.. Soo u show Maia v Mcdonald, Brock v Herring, GSP v Fitch there u have some good fights and almost all of you alotted time, still sucks that Huerta v KenFlo was skipped just a thought…

There must still be a lot of tension between the UFC and Huerta for them to cut out a bout in which he loses to one of the promotion’s top 155-pounders. It’s an interesting development to say the least.

Whether there is a contract dispute or not, I don’t see why they wouldn’t show his fight….strange. Huerta still has one fight left doesn’t he? Amazing……3 months ago Huerta was one of my favorite fighters until he opened his mouth and spewed poop with herpes.

this seems like gudia takeing a back step to me. takeing nothing away from batman hes one hell of a fighter but his last 2 fights he’s 1-1 while clay is 2-0 i was hopeing for clay vs diaz. also i agree with RyanMoney guida beat danzig down.

i was surprized to see guida win over danzig, i thought it was pretty close…

as for pellegrino i think hes been underrated alot, and this fight is a good chance for him to bust out…

its gonna be a good one, it could go either way but i think on paper guida is better… but as we all know paper means nothing inside the cage

This is a great match up for sure. From what I’ve seen, this should be another victory for Guida, as long as he can avoid standing for too long with Pellegrino and avoid being submitted once he takes it to the ground. Pellegrino looked great against Tavares, but Guida has beaten higher caliber fighters than him.

The Carpenter v Batman, that is a interesting fight, both are tuff as hell and quite talented in their own rights…. Guida may come away with the W but it won’t come easy by any means, imo
