Koscheck vs. Yoshida Headlines “UFC Fight for the Troops” on December 10th

The UFC today announced that Josh Koscheck vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida will headline UFC Fight Night 16 “UFC Fight for the Troops” on December 10th at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Mike Swick vs. Jonathan Goulet and Frankie Edgar vs. Matt Wiman are also slated to be featured during the Spike TV broadcast of UFC Fight Night 16, which will raise funds for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.
Thousands of troops from nearby Fort Bragg will attend the event free of charge.

WOW, Wiman over Edgar?
yea edgar is overrated he isnt even in the top 5 lw in the ufc……it goes bj, florian, sherk, griffin, maynard…..wimans on a winning streak and is a very underrated fighter..be prepared for an upset

I haven’t thought deep enough about that match up yet so I cannot pick. I do know it is a great match up though. You are 100% right about Wiman being underrated. It’s another one of those situations where I feel the fighter is more than under rated……he’s not even on the radar to most fans. I hope Wiman wins but at the same time I want Edgar to do well. This will be a great test for Wiman’s take down defense and ground game if Edgar is the aggressor.
Hopefully swick will let his hands go,it’s like he’s held back his last couple fights.Agree with all but 2 of those picks.I’m going with edgar and wolff.Edgar for obvious reasons,and wolff just because i don’t like saunders,i can’t quite pinpoint it he just kind of annoys me.
I think Edgar will win and Saunders is a guy who is fun to watch with some crazy striking and i’ll take Goulet in the upset.
Swick KO 1:14 first round.
Swick has not looked good in his last 3 fights. Okami over powered Swick forcing him to drop down. His two fights at WW did not impress me at all. It seems he has lost his explosive striking/combos. Then again, maybe he was sticking to a game plan in those fights. Still, I am yet to be entertained by him since dropping down. Hopefully he gets another win but an upset would not surprise me too much.
I agree with KOuch about Swick. Swick has been unimpressive as of late. In addition, Goulet’s been on a bit of a run.
Some fighters need more time than others to adapt in a weight class.At least thats what i’m telling myself.
edgar overrated? uh he beat griffin.
edgar over wiman…no doubt! wiman has not beat anybody of note except tavares, while a big win for wiman at that time, tavares has since been exposed as being over-rated, losing 3 of his last 4 bouts. edgar will keep an unmanagable pace for wiman…the pressure will be too much.

i also go wiman beating frankie, i hope kos can put on a good performance i like the guy. i want to see hill fight, did he get beat in his last fight?? i cant rly remember i seem to remember him looking way to skinny and getting beat,

@ JohnBoy, i dont think Kos will get past Yoshida, but if he were to it would probably go to a decsion and probably a split at that, but that is a good main event match… Swick comment spot on
i think kos will suprise alot of people, i no most people dont like him but hes a very skilled guy ide put him in my top 4 WW.
yes JohnBoy he would be in my “top” 4 or 5, i dont personally like him (the person) he is an excellent fighter no doubt… i do think Yoshida can walk away with this one tho, it should be a great match
kos is easily the #2 ww in the world with shields right behind him at #3

Kos #2 ww?? Dude, i don’t think so. In no particular order, these guys are better picks for #2, fitch, shields, alves, even parysian.
Should be a sick fight, i’m rootin for yoshida. He looked good vs war machine, but i’m curious to see what else he’s got since he finished war in a heartbeat.
Swick is being spoonfed in this fight and needs to ko this dude in the 1st round to make up for his last couple of fights. I STILL think swick should be fighting one of his team mates fitch or kos. Any fights between kos,fitch and swick make more sense at ww than kos vs yoshida and swick vs goulet.
Also, when you’re talking about ranking Kos as number 2 WW in the world, remember that BJ is welterweight right now, and if he beats St. Pierre that automatically makes BJ 1, St. Pierre 2, and whoever else 3.

swick-will be better than ever. he’ll have the weight figures out. gaylet will be way out matched.
wiman-is under rated but I disagree that edgar is over rated. Wiman won’t be able to keep up with the pace. Edgar wins.
