  1. dee says:

Mac Danzig needs to try a steak.real protein

  2. Jason N. says:

houston alexander should be cut….go to elite xc and fight kimbo….

belcher looked good..though i assumed he would.. Herman is overrated…

Maybe Guida can get the loser of Griffin/Sherk? Then from there, who knows…why not give him Nate Diaz…which I think he would beat Diaz.. out hustle him…

  3. Daddy Lupo says:

I feel bad for Alexander, man the guy had it so well in the begening. Real killer without cardio.

  4. Dr Doom says:

Good night of fights . although it was a bad way to win for guida . he was smart to fight that way but was hoping for one of those all out wars .Nate looked good in his match , neer seemed embarrased that one judge had him ahead .Saw a flash of the elite xc battle when diaz made the comment there at the end about that “someone ” should step up and fight his brother nick for the title.has gotten me all excited about DREAM 6 .

  5. dude houston is a mess man.. that guy has ZERO knowledge of the ground. when Schafer was in side control he never put a leg up on his knee to avoid the pass, I think dispite a knewly signed contract he is done. No one is going to want to see this guy keep getting beat by a bunch of ground guys.

Nick looked ‘eh’ to me. He did really well against neer but guys like tyson griffon/Mac Danzig/ Clay Guida/ Kenny Florian/ Sean Sherk/Roger Huerta will eat him alive. Now I know thats a lot of the top guys but thats a packed division. His standup is horrible. Nice judo throws though.

  6. timcat says:

Alexander needs to go to Wal-Mart for some ground skills.

  7. Jason N. says:

In all honesty - I dont care if Diaz is undefeated in the UFC - I would not be upset if they got rid of him - I am tired of when he wins, he gets on the mic and just talks useless crap… he sounded like a WWF guy at the end…the interview is about the fight..not your brother.. not stockton, ca…its about you vs neer and maybe what you want next….Im just sick of the guy…if he can get some real competition, I think he will get stomped…because when I think of the top 155′ers, I dont see one of them losing to Diaz - Griffin, Sherk, Huerta, Florian, Penn, Stevenson..hell..even Guida…I dont see Diaz beating any of those! Im sure if Faber moves up to 155, he’d stomp Diaz too…

  8. MMAFan says:

I’m with you Jason. I like watching Diaz fight, real unorthodox and hard to figure out on the ground. But just sick of the mouth.
Guida looked great. I thought it was his best fight yet, against a true quality opponent. Would love to see him against Florian.

  9. Ethan says:

I’d like to say I am really bummed that they didn’t do more for Evan Tanner.

  10. rutdog says:

Funny stuff here. if you go to ufc.com and watch Houston Alexander’s post fight interview, he talks about how he landed some good knees in the SECOND round. Umm, Houston are you retarded? You got choked in the FIRST. Bye bye Houston. Now go fight Kimbo.

  11. MMAFan says:

Right on Ethan. Some two minute tribute segment showing his highlights and stuff at least would have been nice.

  12. kouch says:

Houston Alexander needs a ground game. He may be explosive with power but he looked like Kimbo has been training him when it comes to his ground game. Houston seems very strong and atheletic but I am unsure of him now. I do not see him going anywhere in the UFC LHW division EVER! Not even a gatekeeper. Very disappointed in the non existance of Houston’s ground game.

  13. jiujitsuMAN says:

why is everyone hating on houston?

sure he needs a ground game, he should have knwon that from his last loss and unless he develops those skills hes done… but to say he should go to some other fight organizeation is a lil low blow… he isnt that bad of a fighter, just needs more skills…

and that can be said about many other fighters, yet i dont see you guys saying the samething about them..

as for mac danzig being able to walk through diaz, and saying mac is a top fighter? thats a lil far… it would make for a good fight, but i dont danzig would so easily put him away…

diaz reminds me of a friend i know, loves to talk smack, but can back up what he mostly says… i wonder who they will give him next, cause now that hes 5-0 in the ufc, i think dana had better set him up with someone to brake off some of his ego… besides your not a real fighter until you lose

  14. kouch says:

The Diaz brothers are all good in my book. They have big mouths but they can back it up. I find Nick to be the one with more of a chip on his shoulder. To be honest, it almost seems like Nate is trying to get away from that “a$$hole image” that has been placed on him mostly because of his brother’s reputation. Nate complimented the hell out of Neer after the fight. He seems like a good sport to me. I found it hilarious after Nate won and said, “Someone needs to fight my brother for the title and stop being a punk.” He could not possibly have been talking about KJ HOMO Noons….

  15. adam says:

Houston sucks..to lucky wins thats all..
the guy has no chin lol no ground game. all he has is heart. They should just give him guys who want to stand up and fight..

  16. trey_trey says:

props to “red”. you have to admit he was early trouble… those early knees were on the button! many would have gone down after catching one or two like that. i’d respect houston more if he had the heart to go to sleep instead of tapping with less than ten seconds left! also good to see that *sshole danzig get schooled! your right dee he needs some real protein!

  17. Justin says:

    jiujitsuMAN,
No one is hating on Alexander, it was already rumored that if he lost this fight, he was gone. He did lose, and he showed no improvement on his ground game. Its one thing if you lose three fights in a row, but they are wars and you show improvement from one to the other, but if you lose three fights in a row in the first round (granted one was the Irvin knock out), two by getting embarrassed on the ground, and not showing any improvement, I think you do need to get taken down a notch.

  18. JustJoe says:

Houston is 35 years old, he’s too old anyway, who cares. He’s not even in the top 20 LHW’s.

I’d like to see Nate Diaz vs Kenny Florian. That would be a great fight, and 1 I would actually root for Florian, make it happen!

  19. Justin says:

    re: Danzig needs real protein

I’m all about eating meat, and I’m not into the whole veg/veagan thing, but you can get real protein from nuts, beans, and soy. His loss had nothing to do with his diet, and everything to do with Guida’s constant pressure, great cardio, and solid wrestling.

  20. kouch says:

    Justin,

They were being sarcastic….Guida is one cool dude. Besides, getting protein from nuts is for squirrels not humans.

  21. MMAFan says:

Guido’s madman aggressiveness and constant pressure is rough for anyone to handle. Danzig loves to counter and is a true thinking man’s fighter. You can tell his mind is always strategizing and thinking. But someone like Guida just doesn’t give you a chance to counter, you have to make your own opening in stead of waiting for one. There are lots of guys out there with awesome cardio… but Guida takes it to an entirely different level with the aggressiveness and pace he keeps up.

  22. JustJoe says:

Anyone else get nervous the last minute of Guida’s fights? I always think he’s gonna get caught in a submission and blow a great performance lol.

  23. Justin says:

    K0uch,
I know they were being sarcastic…but the not eating meat part of his diet probably has little affect on his performance, the no animal products part might however. (If I remember correctly he is veagan.)

  24. JC Champagne says:

reminds me of buzz killington from family guy…

  25. Aaron says:

    Great fights last night!
Houston–go home! Run a few miles before you get in the ring. Guida looked ok I thought. He could have finished him. Working out the clock is part of the game I think he just wanted to be back in the win colum. Diaz was smooth on the ground but we already know that. I still think he needs to step up his stand up. He does not have a knockout punch!
SPIKE had so many ****ing commercials!

  26. MMAFan says:

JustJoe—Guida makes me nervous every time too! He looks so wild and reckless that it seems like someone could grab something and get a submission. But he’s only tapped out once so far, so how do you argue with it?

  27. Justin says:

I got 111 points last night on the UFC fantasy thing. Kris, you should set up a league on there and invite your top commenters or something, since you have the emails. That way we don’t have to post emails on here and get spammed.

  28. @Justin - I haven’t used UFC Fantasy before but I’ll look into it and let you know what I figure out.

  29. Justin says:

    Sounds good.
