Hamill only got 10k man he got Jardined didn’t he ?
Evans gets more than Franklin that’s bull**** i know Evan’s won but really ?
Franklin is easily one of the UFC last remaining draw out of the old guard.
Palhares getting 7k is ****ty too.
Palhares check shocked me. Hopefully he’s up to renegotiate soon.
Re: Rashad getting more than Franklin…
You may find that Franklin signed his contract longer ago, before payouts rose. It isn’t like these are negotiated on a fight-by-fight basis.
dan henderson got $250-000 total, with 150k + 150k, that doesn’t add up does it ??
They all could’ve been paid more.
But they aren’t under contract to be paid more, timcat. And are you saying Liddell deserved more than 500K?
I wish dana white would pay me half a million to get KTFO…
i bet 80% of those guys make way more than this post says…This is just their “to show/to win” money. I think they get a cut of the PPV buys, undisclosed bonuses, and KO/Sub of the night bonuses, etc. None of it having to do with sponsorships that aren’t paid directly to UFC.
You gotta figure with some of these guys only makeing $10k for fighting, and only fighting once every 3-4 months there is no way they could afford training/living/family/etc.
Re: Rashad getting more than Franklin…
Rashad also won the 6 figure contract for TUF.
These are all negotiated figures… I don’t feel bad for these guys. Get a better agent if you’re unhappy.
Dude why did tim boetch get more than hamill? Does this mean jardine got more than wanderlei for being tko’d as well?
wow the ufc needs to pay more they make enough money to pay each one of those fighters at least 100,000 and a million for the bigger guys
yeah 10,000 isn’t $hit for a fight. Especially since these guys likely fight 3 times a year, sometimes less than that.
you really think dana and zuffa would give a cut of the PPV to the fighters lol…. i’m sure their sponsors help them out but negative on the PPV.. thats the way dana rolls
10k is **** for a fighter as they have to pay for training and their bills too even fighting 3 times a year is still a bum deal.
Some fighters do get a percentage of the
PPV rate obviously this only aplies to the Liddells, Coutures & Lesnars
10k does NOT INCLUDE BONUSES AND SPONSORSHIPS.
Do we get that yet? Most fighters make more from sponsorships than from fighting. Same with football players. And golfers. And tennis players.
Commercials/ad placement is where all of them make their money, unless they’re maybe pulling half a million a fight. Then they don’t NEED the condomdepot.com ad right on their ass (bad product placement seriously).
Ok, so THEY NEGOTIATED A CONTRACT that pays them 10k. Whose fault is that? When you took your job, did you start saying “Hey, this is the salary I agreed to, but damn it my company made more money this year, they should just pay me more!”
If you did (and if you told them) I’m surprised you didn’t get laughed to HR for a severance check.
They agreed to a salary. They work for that salary. They get paid on the side, away from these reported rates. Please shut up already.
DBiz, I get what your saying, But 10K… thats bull
No it isn’t bull. They should have negotiated a better contract.
You can’t blame the UFC for sticking to a contract the fighter had a hand in.
ZUFFA didn’t force anybody to sign their personal contracts so owell 10k is still 10k…
I’ve been away from here for some time, sooo WOW Chuck got ktfo bottom, I was wrong and Rashad did a great job, Hendo looked awesome all and all it was a very entertaining card imo….Oklahoma still sucks but last sat me and my brother found a cool spot and cool people I actually had a good time here, Chuck might not have to retire yet should reevaluate certain things like dropping his hands for no reason…. I’ve always supported Chuck and will continue to do soo but damn that was brutal, cheers
seems like a lot of unfair numbers they’ve got here, but think about this (while using say…forrest griffin as an example).
the first of his last 3 fights goes all the way back to june of ‘07 and he was coming off his loss to jardine. let’s say that was when he signed a new contract for 3 fights at $25,000 a piece.
that would mean that when he fought rampage, he only earned $25,000 for that fight (i don’t remember what his actual payout was). while it may seem unfair, that’s according to the contract he signed back in june of ‘07. them’s the breaks!
UFC needs to renegotiate Chucks salary coz of his current record of 1-3. Yes he is still considered the no. 1 card drawer in the UFC but its a bit unfair that he still has that kind of contract and lose. He was given 500k in his fight against Jardine, while Jardine is given only 14k. Like what they did to Cro COp he was given an option to fight again but lesser pay coz of his record of 1-2.
UFC needs to change they fight salary for example Chuck fight purse is 500k win or lose they need to bargain that if his opponent wins he needs to give 30% of his salary to the winner to have a fair competition.
Can’t do that until the contract is up, Drei. I suspect if they asked during the term of the contract, he would tell them to put their fists somewhere very uncomfortable.
10k is bull
Do you think for a minute that Dana would take a chance on the Iceman leaving the UFC? If that were to happen and the Iceman went to go to… say… Affliction, how well do you think that would sit with the UFC? It would certainly bolster Affliction’s credibility. It would also immediately generate more PPV buys for Affliction. No, my friends, the UFC will pay Liddell to stay right where he is for the time being. And Liddell will be back in the mix… with his guard up next time.
DolfanG… sorry to break it to you, but Chuck’s time has come. Actually, it came right after Rampage handed him his second loss.
He was my all time fav. fighter, but hes done man. Like it or not. Some rise to the occasion and shine, others can’t keep the pace.
Chuck is no Randy Couture.
the UFC should change their pay policy .. fighters should be paid according to their spot on the card ie . first fight they get 15 grand each with a 7,500 win bonus .. second fight gets 20 grand each with a 10 grand winner bonus etc ..etc .this way they would be not only be fightig for a shot at the belts but also for what their next fight is going to be worth . it inspires people to perform and the result is a better product . paying fighters on pre determined contracts is unfair as unexpected talent gets the shaft in the end .
on a side note I have no pants …..
Ryan-S it says 100k +150k
FR702,
Good to have you back.
Chris L - That’s a change from yesterday. When it went up it was at 150 + 150.
I would get in there and fight for $10,000
most of these guys are trainers at various gyms around the country and get paid for their time as trainers. you knuckleheads that complain about the fight purses each time they are announced obviously work for someone else and have not had any business experience to draw from. this is a BUSINESS! if you want the ufc to continue to grow and invest in more free shows and promote the WEC more, then stop b*tchin’! if they paid like some of the other orgs that have folded or are about to fold….they would have to close shop too! this crying about the pay after every show is getting old fast!
