Not dissing your point that this should be fair, but the reality is that there would have to be a mass rebellion to cause a new match-up system to be enforced.

My simple point in this is that there needs to be SOME criteria to decide who “gets” to fight who for the title shot. And even Don King would shake his head at a fighter winning one fight and get a title shot.

You know as well as I do it is the same 2-4 people using different names. That’s why I said we should just ignore it and not respond. I’m a total hypocrite to that rule though.

Just remember throwing all those high profile fighters on one card will only make the following cards harder to put together as far as “drawing power.” I know what you’re saying but I am using Affliction’s one hit wonder show as a good/bad example of what happens with a star filled fight card. The fans may end up waiting extra time for fighters to fight again on later cards because the UFC will need to spread the wealth(fighters with draw power) around. On the same note, some fighters may make too early of a comeback. I guess in so many words, don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

Hello again. I’m not playing that game. I never lost any argument to anyone. When you present facts and base your opinion on factual evidence, there is no being wrong. Why would you bring up that stupid stuff anyway? It was 2-3weeks ago and since Slick has been gone, no one has argued or anything. You do realize I have no power to ban anyone right? That is on Kris. Actually, in all honesty I need to be careful what I say because I think Kris wants to ban me sometimes.

I do agree about these not being deserved matchups but I’m with KOuch on this one. I DON’T CARE!!! Silva verses Silva would kick ass as well.

As I have said before, the nature of the match ups being a subjective choice rather than a pre-arranged fixture list means that these fights can happen, and although it may be unfair (by the way life isn’t fair) makes the sport more interesting.

During the post fight interview he will grab the mic from Joe Rogan and call out Anderson Silva as his next fight.

Silva VS Penn will be next year’s TUF.
I am not a hardcore Penn fan but I love it that he is out there making those fights happen. As a fan of the sport, I love it.

it’s necessary for fighters to skip a few top guys when they get their title shots b/c the guys they’re skipping will likely be the ones they defend it against if they win. by doing this, the ufc has plenty of great fights to come in the future!

UFC has all the tools to put together the best card in MMA history. You cant waste this potential on bad match ups.

Chuck vs. Anderson

They could put ME fighting a horsefly in the undercard and it would make history.

I think Chuck vs Forrest makes better sense, and the two Silvas to go toe-to-toe. The night will be as exciting, and will not make chuck face Anderson just yet. He should win over Forrest, then defend against Anderson, THAT would be a good set up. Unless wandy beats Anderson, and then we are blessed with a Chuck vs Wandy 2, for the belt as Chuck will be the champ at that point.

mmmmmmmmm, the possibilities are endless sometimes. Cote is not in my top 5 fighters really, I seriously think he should not be getting a bloody title shot. I just don’t like the guy, sorry.

Rashad, well, I think he will be waking up in 2009 after Chuck KO’s him big style. Chuck needs a powerful, strong, quick KO to get his spark back. I think it will happen.
