Lambert vs. Day Completes UFC 88 Card
Jason Lambert will drop from the 205-pound light heavyweight division to the 185-pound middleweight division to take on Jason Day at UFC 88 on September 6th in Atlanta.
The bout, which was officially announced the UFC this week, completes the UFC 88 fight card.
“Day is a tough guy with good kickboxing and jiu jitsu,†said Lambert to UFC.com. “I think it’s going to be a great fight and I’m looking forward to getting back in the Octagon.â€
“I think this is going to be a good fight for me,†Day told UFC.com. “It (the fight) was totally unexpected, but the more I train for it the more I like it. I haven’t been able to show much of my ability on the ground in the UFC yet and I plan on taking this fight there. I know Lambert is a ground and pound guy and so am I, so it has the potential to be an all-out war on the ground. I have been working hard on my ground for this fight and I want to show off my submission skills. He is not scared to stand with guys and if he tries to avoid my takedowns and keep it standing then I have no problem ending it on the feet.â€

A very solid card!
im predicting a few upsets
Yoshida to defeat Karo
& Palhares to defeat Henderson
yoshida to defeat karo should not be considered an upset. Karo is a career underachiever.
martin kampmann is gonna beat marquardt and probably get his well deserved title shot that he has been waiting for
i think marquardt will be to strong for Kampmann
Yoshida could very well beat Karo and i wouldnt consider that a upset, perhaps Karo can be just like his cousin and simply get KO’D….
I truly hope Hendo takes this fight seriously, 1 he needs a win in the octagon he is too good to keep losing 2 if he makes mistakes he is goin to get subbed by Palhares, Joe Silva isnt giving Hendo any breaks is he
Kampmann v Nate is going to be a good fight and then ofcourse Chuck v Evans, Chuck better fight this fight the best he can or Evans can pull out an UD
Evans sucks and is going to get knocked the f$$ked out.
Rocksolid,
by no means do Evans suck is he entertaining ehhh is he the best LHW, no but hey not many can go 12-0-1draw and be that bad… now ofcourse after stating that opionion of mine, i too hope that Chuck knocks him the F out as well, i mean hell Evans had a draw with Tito, i mean Tito who draws with him good god….
Tito beat his a$$. The only way he even got the draw in the first place is because they took a point away from Ortiz. Liddell is going to knock him out and go on to face Griffin for the title.
Henderson needs a win bad and will get it here.
Karo will lose and maybe we can stop hearing about his title shot.(yes we know who you are Karo.)
I’m picking Hamill in the upset of Franklin.
Cool fights, specially Henderson and Liddell. However, I do look forward to the Jason Lambert fight and hopefully we get to see him kick sum ass again.
I am so glad they made this last fight.
I was kind of on the fence about the card before that, but this fight just really makes it complete. I may have to actually buy this one now.
Hamill v. Franklin will be an interesting fight. I just don’t want either one of them to lose, because they are both good guys.
Picture perfect ending to the main event: Chuck knocks out Rashad in the 2nd round. War Liddell!
