UFC 87 Medical Suspensions: St-Pierre, Fitch Among Suspended Fighters
Georges St-Pierre, Jon Fitch, Dan Evensen, and Ryan Thomas each received precautionary 30 day medical suspensions stemming from their bouts at UFC 87 “Seek and Destroy” on August 9th in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The state’s mixed martial arts sanctioning body, the Minnesota Combative Sports Commission, confirmed the medical suspensions with MMA Junkie on Monday.
St-Pierre and Fitch were both suspended for 30 days due to cuts sustained in their five-round championship main event bout, which St-Pierre won via unanimous decision.
Evensen received a 30 day precautionary suspension due to his first-round TKO loss to Cheick Kongo on the night’s preliminary card and must also undergo a CT scan to confirm that he sustained no serious injuries in the loss.
Thomas, who was defeated by Ben Saunders via second-round submission in the event’s opening bout, also received a 30 day suspension due to cuts.
According to the report, no fighter salaries will be available for UFC 87 as Minnesota does not publicly release MMA salary information.

if they don’t renew huerta’s contract i don’t see huerta getting a tuff fight like those guys… it won’t mean anything. now huerta won’t get his pay increase for sure now… so roger might leave unless he was all talk… he choked and didn’t even fight like he usually does. he quit on himself..
ken flo vs tyson/sherk sounds realistic… but do you think sherk deserves another shot at penn if he wins… i mean i just lost to him. i don’t think so but if tyson wins then i see kenflo/tyson fight for #1 contender… it suck bj wants to prove himself so bad because there are people who deserve there shots and now they have to wait…
What about Nate Diaz? theres no reason with a win over Neer he shouldnt get a proven fighter right?

i wouldn’t mind seeing huerta vs. maynard, lauzon, edgar, hermes franca, or even guida again. everyone know that’ll be a sick fight and if he beats guida twice maybe people will stop doubting him.

Rember that in about a year when he gets a little sronger and more exp…And Bj penn should have to defend his title a few more times before he gets to fight GSP..

i dont know if the ufc will give florian that tough of an opponent yet…i think they will give him someone like a can or a new comer just so they make sure he doesnt get upset and they lose a title contender…it will probably be someone like per ekland or joe veres..someone small
I think kenflo has a definate shot at beating penn.You want an area [conditioning].I agree it would be an upset but i think kenny is much improved since the sherk fight.And as far as maynard ever being champ i like him and all but i don’t see that happening.

I def think the Ken-flo should have to fight and beat at least one more top contender before he gets another title shot. If Griffen wins then let them 2 fight for the next shot at BJ. If Sherk wins let Ken-flo fight against Maynard, Edgar, Fischer, or someone like that for the next shot. I just think since he got so man handled by Sherk in his first shot at the title that he should have to beat another top ranked guy to prove he’s ready for it again. In the mean time you can have Sherk if he beats Griffin fight someone for the Title shot after that because I def think Sherk is still a top 3 in the division. The mans only loses are to Hughes, GSP, and Penn. Penn is the only loss at 155. That speaks volumes my friends.
