  1. Gonzo says:

    Larry and Lawrence,

You see. When GSP is asked about fighting BJ Penn, he dodges the question by saying he wants to fight the best in the world. Why doesn’t he say, he would love to fight him?

Matt Hughes beat GSP in 2004. Later, GSP came into the octogan after a Hughes win, and challenged him. Hughes accepted, then lost to GSP.

GSP is afraid of goes around comes around. And afraid of Penn.

  2. richardo says:

    GEORGES ST.PIERE IS Da BEST

  3. UFC fan says:

if hughes was still young he could beat St.Pierre hughes was the best but now is to old. all respect to st.pierre do i look high like this?-_- ..

  4. segablack says:

No way hes afraid of Penn PENN the one who should be worried man HES HAS TO FIGHT GSP!

  5. del says:

did you two retards(gonzo/ufc fan) watch the fight, he beat the best in his division, he has beaten penn before, why do you think he is scared. because he picks careful answers to his questions and doesn’t sound like some arrogant american fighter like brock lesnar, the thing I find here is that gsp could kick the living **** out of any fighter in his weight class or anyone who steps up. He is the most complete fighter in the ufc other than Anderson Silva, you guys are just mad that your corn fed american farm boys are getting their asses handed to them by a pea soup eating french Canadian

  6. mr1000lbs says:

penn will get dominated but the whole point is penn doesnt deserve a title shot right away, he needs to beat the best welterweights to get a shot at gsp

  7. Brock Lesner makes me feel inferior

  8. Tspence says:

brock lesnar is a bully! sure he kicked heaths ass most of the fight but come on he should have respect for heath for getting in there and surviving 3 rounds with him not laughing in his face and pointing. grow because this isnt wrestling this is professional mixed martial arts, have some class

  9. timcat says:

Lesnar was excited about his first legit win in the sport. You tell me you wouldn’t be excited and you would be a liar. He has respect for everyone who competes in the greatest sport in the world. It’s ok to show emotion.

B.J. Penn is a different fighter than the last time they met and G.S.P knows it. A focused Penn is one scary dude. It’s gonna happen. In case anybody forgot G.S.P won by split decision. It could’ve gone the other way people. It was that close.

    Hey Kapp 3-1

  10. Gonzo says:

del, what’s with the name calling? Yes, I watched the fight. I normally enjoy watching GSP. His 3 previous bouts were awesome. UFC 87 was stacked. Every fight was exciting, except the main event. I’m sure Penn will defend his lightweight title atleast once before he gets an opportunity against GSP. Even you have to admit, that would be a super Main Event.

    Timcat, you are right on.

  11. TJ says:

its ok to show emotion, just have some class. Emotion when you are celebrating like Forrest did when he beat Shogun is one thing, but pointing at your opponent and shoving him after the bell and spending the entire time Rogan puts a mic in your face talking about how awesome you are is classless.

  12. GSP says:

any word on some fighter salaries and medical suspensions?? i wanna know if Herring is alive and walking. poor bastard took a beating.
BJ Penn is a much different fighter now?? that pretty much gets nulled when you face St.Pierre because HE is the most progressive fighter out there. BJ Penn will remember why he scurried off to the lightweight division. There was no way that BJ Penn was going to win that fight once it went to decision. Jabs don’t count for anything when your opponent picks you up and and drops you like a baby three times in the last two rounds. The heavy clan of Penn-supporters here must know this. Nevertheless, bring him out for another go, it will be great. But does anyone REALLLY think he deserves a shot for the title???

  13. Erizzle says:

    Great overall card.

Maia vs McDonald: Didn’t have much interest in this one going into the card. Thought it was going to be very boring. It was anything but boring. Great fight.

Florian vs Huerta: No surprise with Florian winning. Although, I thought he’d finish it in the 1st.

Lesnar vs Herring: I’m having a hard time not disliking Lesnar; what a meat head punk (class it up a little). I’d say something to him if I was Dana. I’m having a hard time not saying he is/going to be one of the most exciting fighters in MMA. Werdum or Kongo next?

GSP vs Fitch: Great match and revealed more about GSP to me. To me, GSP showed some vulnerabilities, mainly between the ears. GSP rocked Fitch HARD in the 1st due to wrestling and ground-n-pound. If GSP was thinking, he would’ve secured a takedown quickly in the 2nd to finish the fight. No doubt it could’ve been done. Penn will hurt GSP badly when they meet. I commend Fitch on being a tough fighter and finishing the fight. Koscheck next for Fitch?

  14. kelvin says:

that’ll be a great fight, i really can’t pick someone yet. i wanna see brock vs. kongo. both of them won, i think that’ll be crazy, wonder if brock could hold him down the way he did with herring.

  15. Erizzle says:

Oh, did anyone happen to count how many times Kongo hits his chest and points in the air on his way to the octagon? I counted around 74.

  16. Gonzo says:

Brock vs Congo would be great. I’d also like Brock vs. Gonzaga. These guys are strong enough to deal with Brock, and more skilled.

Brock is trying to get more notoriety by his actions. Very much like he did in the WWE. Which is fine with me. Brock is Dana White’s version of Kimbo Slice. Dana likes to hate on Kimbo. Mark my words, as soon as Kimbo becomes available, Dana will snatch him up too.

Is Curt Angle ever going to do MMA? He was an Olympic Gold Medalist.

  17. Larry says:

Granted Penn has shown a little dedication as of late but, the bottom line is and always will be Penn’s cardio. I think we can ALL agree that when he fought GSP last time Penn owned the first round but from the second round on it was all GSP. GSP has made some significant changes in his game as well as Penn. It will be an incredible fight no doubt, The end result will depend greatly, not soley, on Penn and his wind and if he understands the consequences of losing to GSP again. GSP has an incredible understanding of the game and the people he fights, that kind of dedication is hard to beat when you have the physical tools GSP has. I’d put GSP in the ring with Silva any day. With both camps given proper training time, GSP would come out ahead. Look at the fight Luter gave Silva, GSP has the tools, the Cardio, and the camp to defeat anyone from 155 to 185 hands down no question!

  18. FR702 says:

GSP has the tools most definately, hell i would put BJ in against Anderson Silva i would also put Urijah in against BJ but i would make him fight Tyson first ha, GSP, BJ, Anderson Silva are all clearly dominat in their respective weight divisions.. BJ lost a split decision to GSP and with BJ Penn’s “rededication” it would be great to see them fight again, it isnt a clear cut victory for either fighter thats what is soo intriguing about it…. two of the greatest facing off both of whom are champions, it rights itself….

  19. ummNO says:

“GSP is afraid of goes around comes around. And afraid of Penn.

    . . . . umm . . . .NO.

i would say that this being st.pierre’s first 5-round fight, he did very well. i think bj penn has improved his conditioning very much, and a 5-round between st.pierre and penn would be great. but i don’t think st.pierre is afraid of penn, since st.pierre already beat penn - which was a good fight. that may have been an old penn, but that was also an earlier st.pierre.

this should be a spectacular fight. i see penn beating st.pierre by decision. but i don’t see st.pierre ducking, or even being afraid of penn.

  20. del says:

penn vs gsp will take place in november in montreal, guarantee it

  21. del says:

sorry i was wrong, it was just announced on mma weekly, penn vs gsp on new years

  22. UFC fan says:

Del, didnt say he was scared i think gsp could beat penn!

  23. UFC fan says:

and gongzo, gonzaga would kill lesnar!

  24. kouch says:

    TJ,

I see what you are saying about Brock and agree for the most part. To play devil’s advocate, I feel it is a rookie error on Brock’s part. He jumped up and pushed Herring away before the fight was over and his disrespectful pointing and laughing was uncalled for. Someone(Dana&company) needs to let him know that was inappropriate and a terrible show of good sportsmenship. Still, it is forgiveable because he was caught up in the moment. Brock probably feels he has to prove himself to a **** load of fans, fighters and the UFC to keep his job. A very small minority even believe in Brock as a mixed martial artist. I am sure that puts tremendous pressure on him. Then after losing to Mir he comes back and dominates a very reputable veteran. He was caught up in the excitement and acted out the wrong way. If he does it again I will consider him a ****y asshole. For now he gets one free pass. ROOKIE MISTAKE!

  25. zac says:

to all the people saying GSP would dominate Penn….did you guys see the first Penn GSP fight? Back when BJ’s conditioning was suspect? It was damn close to a draw IMO. GSP is a badass, but Penn has the craziest fighting abilities that we’ll see in a long time. Plus he cuts sweet promos.

  26. Gonzo says:

UFC fan, yes I believe Gonzaga and Konga can beat Lesnar. Both of these guys have strength and skill. Where Heath only had skill. I wonder how Coleman could have handled it. Are they still going to fight?

My point is Dana is proping up Lesnar as the next coming, but every chance he gets, he disses Kimbo SLice. They are both the same. They are both tough, aggressive, skilled in one area of MMA, and are learning the ropes (cage).

  27. del says:

i just don’t understand the hype about penn, sure he can kick some ass at lightweight, but what happens when he has to put on those extra pounds again, hes gonna lose some speed and stamina, Sean sherk caused more problems for bj than he did for gsp and joe stevenson is not what I would call a career making fight, and he is fighting a man who has done nothing but get better since the last time they fought, mark my words : penn will lose via ref stoppage in the second round due to strikes.

  28. UFC fan says:

i agree bj really good at light wieght but will never beat GSP going up a wieght class makes a huge difference and besides GSP is a big welter wieght.

  29. ground&pound says:

As far as BJ vs GSP 1st fight, he poked him in the eye accidentally that first round. Have you ever taken a punch with a finger in the eye, your not gonna be able to see anything. His eyes came back, and he beat him. BJ is not a match for GSP, everyone sais BJ is serious now, lol it doesnt make up for being over weight and flabby and trying to match the athleticism of a elite fighter. He should stay down and fight in the weight class that is natural for him. I think that he knows hes getting older, and is wanting money!
