“Heavy is the head that wears the crown…” Forrest will have to work his rear off for any successful title defenses. And should he be successful a couple of times its probably a safe bet it will be a canidate for fight of the year.

Thank You. I can now go about my day much less frustrated knowing a regular sees eye to eye with me. I started to get the feeling I was all alone….The one thing I like is that the topic has been debated not argued into foul mouthed insults. Other message boards and sites with comments are filled with insults and fights. Good group here indeed.

NO GO! Rampage did not win round one! Forrest landed more strikes, controlled the pace of the fight and escaped the ground against Rampage’s strength for the brief 35 seconds Rampage had a hair of control in rd 1. The ONLY reason people give Rampage the round is because he connected ONE punch that lead to a knock down which Rampage did NOT capitalize on. In the first round what did Rampage do on the ground? NOTHING! Are you f-n serious that you give a round to a fighter for a punch that was a knockDOWN not a knockOUT? The rest of Rampages “attempted” combos were not effective because of Forrest’s leg kicks. I don’t get where you’re coming from. How does Forrest outstriking, controlling the pace and causing more damgage not win round one? Watch Again! Furthermore, Rampage does not deserve an immediate title shot. He should have to fight a contender first. Rampage’s title defense was the epidamy of all title defenses. It was ugly, horrific and lacked champion desire. I love Rampage but he was off that night and by no means does he deserve a shot right away. BS! Rampage went from being hated to loved by the majority of fans and I am happy as hell about that. At the same time, people need to be realistic in how things work. Rampage looked like ****! Now it’s time to work his way back up the ladder.

who cares whether they scored the fight 49-46 or 48-47…a loss still counts as a loss whether it’s by unanimous dec, split dec, ko, tko, sub,stoppage, whatever. can all the whimpering rampage fans get over it already. let’s talk about who’s next for a title fight against the NEW champ!

Forrest won, but it was close (apart from the 10-8 round).

mikemick you are 100% right about TUF. tito shamrock was good because it did not hold up a division it built up to a fight and increased ppv sales. Also penn pulver was a great TUF. I disagree with somewhat about the medical suspensions. as i said befor what this proves is that forrest did do damage. Since the fight was was close many people have said rampage should have won because he did more damage. the suspensions only prove that to be false. This may have had an impact on the judges scoring in very close rounds.

KOuch……yes I watched the fight and yes, Rampage did in fact win round one. But it doesn’t matter, he lost. I am not saying he got robbed, I am just saying it is worthy of an immediate rematch. It was so close they have to do it again. I dont even really think round two was a 10-8 round myself, but I dont have a real beef with the judges calling it that way.
