Matt Riddell and CB Dolloway are both from Tempe and come out of the same camp. Did you notice that in the bio clips before the fight CB talks about and is shown partying by the pool and just fooling around. Riddell on the other hand before and after his fight said that since leaving the show he has been training with AZ combat sports and is training even harder now. Well, it showed. After watching the two AZ fighters I am thoroughly impressed with Riddell and come away thinking Dolloway is some sort of ASU frat boy meat head that has no strategy in the octagon. If he did he would not have fallen prey to the same submission from the same fighter twice in a row. To top it off he tapped prematurly out of reflex and then whined about it. I came into the fight rooting for CB but left with the taste of **** in my mouth. It makes me wonder which one is spending the most time with AZ combat and it makes me hope that next season’s fighters have not just talent but character as well.

I wish I could forget this site exists. I always watch the U.S events as they are screened in the uk (24 hours later) & always try to stop myself logging on to see who won. Well i’ve been awake 30 minutes now & the suspense has been killing me, I couldn’t even eat my bacon butty, I just watched it go cold!!!
Damn, really didn’t think Amir would take out CB again, I felt CB would learn from the earlier loss & win comfortably. I’m stunned!!!!!!!!!

  • regoillin said:

i dont even want to know what bacon butty is.

Amir is the man. The sun just came up and the fireworks are still going off in richmond. maybe i should stop lighting those.

amir is the man!! what a beast

Amir!!!! WOOOOOOHHHHOOOOO!!!! I am not impressed with CB giving his arm up for the second time in almost the same scenario. CB definitely needs to work on submission defense, escape and thought process. Kendall looked very good with those knees but I do not see him rising through the ranks just because he beat Tanner. Tanner did take a nice ass whoopin to the face……I think Matt Riddle might be one of my new favorites. He is still 22yrs young and only getting better. I couldn’t belive it when he went for the arm bar when he could have finished Dante with some G&P. Can’t wait to see him fight again. Did anyone else notice that Rampage and Forrest seem rather friendly considering they have a title fight in a few weeks? Rampage made jokes calling Forrest ugly then complimented his work ethic….these guys are great.

    JPM,

What is bacon butty? I have had American and Canadian bacon but never “butty” bacon.

  • jpm said:

    KOuch

A butty is simply what we in the northern part of england call a sandwich, other variations to name this most sacred of foods are barm, bap, batch. Perfect hangover food, the type of food that if dwarfs & midgets had eaten at an early age they might have grown couple of feet taller and not have their own special weight catagory in the ufc!!!

  • jpdocdave said:

i’m glad amir beat him again, he’s a great humble fighter with a good attitude. cb is a jag. i hope amir keeps going, he didn’t even have any professional mma fights before the show.

and what a weenie cb is for throwing a fit after he tapped, and realized he was a **** for doing it. i never liked him from the beginning of the show.

Was anyone else surprised that the Grove/Tanner fight ended in a split decision? Maybe I have to watch it again, but two of the judges scored 30-26 Grove. What do you guys think?

  • mrnice said:

i was shocked by Amir… is he not a carbon copy of Forrest? they have the exact same personality and heart…

For those of us who don’t check http://www.UFC.com much anymore because you find about it a week to a month earlier here anyways!=D They have the Burkman vs. Hazelett “Fight of the Night” for free on http://www.UFC.com

  • curtis said:

The submission in that fight was incredible!

  • joel b said:

anyone else see the grove tanner fight as a plit i thought that was a unaimous easy? also tanner looked bad he was slow and not very crisp looking. i really hope that he just bows out gracefully he has lost his edge and needs to retires instead of getting retired joe silva will not be asking him back that is forsure.

  • regoillin said:

I think the reffing was excellent. The refs always catch sh*t when they mess up but they did a really good job last night. I don’t remember any unnecessary standups or stoppages or obviously bad calls. Props.

  • curtis said:

I didn’t see it as a split. I felt that Grove won every round.

  • curtis said:

Grove’s Knees while being pushed for a single leg take down were nice!

  • The Rob said:

Tanner’s fighting didn’t look all too sharp but his beard was solid.

  • E-ROC said:

Diego Sanchez might be one of those very good fighters who never win a belt. Fioravanti made him look really average for a fighter noted at one point as the next Matt Hughes.

Tanner’s beard was awesome. He should keep it.

  • curtis said:

Saying a fighter is the next Matt Hughes is like saying that Kobe is the next MJ. It is just not the case. MMA is a different game now. Diego may be a more well rounded fighter, and if he hopes to make a run to the title he will have to be.

  • JOHNBOY said:

haha cant belive some guys dint no what a bacon butty was, i thought we spoke the same lingo, saying that i dint no what an upper decker was til tuf 6 ha.

cant belive eastman has beaten rampage i hope i heared that wrong eastman sucks man, amir is a funny guy an has heart but i dont see him being much of a force at 185 hope im wrong cos i like the guy. grove looked good but he should of finished the fight.riddle looked in great shape he needs to let his hands go at bit more any1 else think he looked abit gun shy great win tho. good to see sanchez back even tho i dont like him to much, hes a great fighter tho and i think hes back in the mix now maybe him an alves go at it.

  • Sean said:

Like most people I think Amir will drop to 170.. he doesn’t look all that solid at 185 so i think he could make 170 easy.

  • Dave, Md said:

Eastman does suck , I dont see how he beat Rampage…… amir should drop doen to 170 I think he would do better there 185 is pretty stacked .. either way he wont be fighting for a title anytime soon

  • kouch said:

    JPM,

Very good then…..now I am hungry…Despite the greatness of the bap, I think midgets and dwarfs are genetically malfunctioned making it impossible for them to grow any taller. Back to MMA I was just thinking how I’d like to see Amir vs Riddle.

  • B said:

I think when Eastman beat Rampage it was his first professional fight

  • curtis said:

In Page’s defense that loss to Eastman was 8 years ago. He is a far different fighter since Pride, let alone 8 years ago.

  • mike said:

i say all and all the show was good i liked the way thay skiped the intos of dafght

  • JOHNBOY said:

just seen the dustin and josh fight that was a war great fight, burkman’s eye looked nastey,

cant belive dustin hazelett nickname is mclovin haha

  • yzfoxracing said:

IM STOKED AMIR WON. AND THE BEST PART ABOUT IT IS THAT IT WAS THE SAME MOVE. THATS GOTTA BE IMBARRESING… YOU GOTTA LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES MAN… IT WAS SO CLEAR THAT HE TAPPED AND HE LOOK AT HIS CORNER LIKE HE WANTED THEM TO DO SOMETHING HA HA

  • Ryan-S said:

correct me if i am wrong, but rampage beat eastman in his ufc debut last year aswell didn’t he? I guess that evens the score from the past for rampage.
Anyhow, as for bacon butties, mmmmmmmmmmm they’re nice, esp with brown sauce.
Obviously you gathered i am a brit aswell :)

Amir was bloody ace against cb, cb does not impress me much at all. Granted, he got a lucky shot cos of JT dipping out like a bum, but he should have taken the chance with both hands, and yes, avoided the damn arm-bar AGAIN,

Tanner is getting like Shamrock, he’s getting too old, thinks he’s still got it, and has had some bad ass fights to his name. He ought to step down, not destroy his legacy, and leave it at that. Kendall was good, but at 6ft 6 he’s massive for anyone, long legs, ****, he almost scraped off Tanner’s beard with his heel shot, lol.

Riddle was great, I really enjoyed him fighting. I was a bit wary as he was well ****y after the viscious KO on his mate on TUF, but he showed good moves and at hgis age, like Joe Rogan says he has a bright future in the UFC.

I saw Matt Hughes get KO’d live at the O2, and I love Hughes, but now have to admit he’s slipping away from it and the younger blood is filling in his place, and Riddle is just the type to do that.

Diego has a bloody tuff fight I rekon, he was good don’t get me wrong, BUT, his opponent gave him a run around and got out of take-downs etc, pissing sanchez off. He also landed a few on sanchez and unfortunately , got beat. Credit to sanchez as the jumping knee was great.

I wish Matt Brown ( or was it Dan Brown?, sorry )for TUF was in the final, as he got caught by Amir didn’t he by submission. ****, Brown was good and he was an animal. Let’s hope he rises in the UFC..
As for Jesse Taylor, dddddduuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrr !!!!!
Speak properly you pratt, you jumped up “wannabe” ufc fighter. Good wrestler, bad attitude, well done Dana for keeping the crap out of the UFC.

  • Ryan-S said:

rampage may have beat eastman the year before last, damn I can’t remember now !

  • Dietrich said:

Glad Grove won. I think he matured as a fighter this past weekend.

  • Dannyboy said:

I just can’t believe Tanner got a split decision out of that fight. Seems like someone had some money on the split decision and that person’s name is whoever the judge that saw it as 29-28. I love Tanner and was really wanting him to win but you still have to call ‘em like you see ‘em. I hope Amir can take his newfound fame and run with it. He needs to drop to Welterweight and he may do really well.

amir puts on a great show. he will do good in the UFC. he might not ever be champion quality, but just like when I watch Clay Guida fight. Id rather watch a good show and fighters wwith big hearts and lose then chumps who don’t put on a good show and win. Amir is fun to watch fight.
