Kimbo still needs to shut the f up. He has not fought any decent opponent as far as MMA standards go. Chuck was not wrong in what he said. I do see how it could be taken very offensive on Kimbo’s part but until Kimbo fights a legit MMA guy Chucks comments are 100% true.

Well any news on Hughes/Serra is GREAT news!! I dont know if there is a fight out there I want to see more than this one….all that smack talk… but I will be disappointed that if at the end of the fight, they hug and give each other respect.. not in this case!!!

Kimbo is starting to get annoying….he is trying to talk all tough….seriously…if you want to be taken serious…sign with the UFC instead of resigning with the minor leagues….fight the big boys….until then, be quiet! Its like the yankees boasting on how they beat the Rays… really? who cares!

Can we please put this Silva vs Jones rumor to bed…who cares…I wouldnt watch this fight even if it happens….stick to real fighting!

I like the idea of Din Thomas moving down….give more competition to Faber….he has yet to fight top talent….and people think he is a god… though Jens is close to being washed up…I think he will take him in June…

And I love the idea of moving the top WEC guys up to the UFC….id love to see Stann fight rampage, chuck silva, forrest, etc!! Put Condit, Varner, McCullough, etc in the UFC….would be very cool to see….(though I have seen Varner in the UFC already, but he has improved since then!)

Lets pretend silva beats jones jr in boxing, will he go looking for the best kickboxer and look for a fight against him??

Anderson should just stick to mma. suits his style of kicks elbows knees and jiu jitsu

I can see tim sylvia beating fedor by cut. Fedor cuts too easliy(matt lindland fight).

Still wont gain any respect for Tim because he got asked to fight fedor in 2005 and he said NO!!

and he is boring but somebody needs to put fedor down

I think Anderson Silva should challenge Greg Luganous to a high dive competion - then move on to see if he can beat Jenny Fitch on throwing a fastball…..come on…seriously….stick to your sport…is he trying to be like Bo Jackson and be successful at 2 sports?

I think Fedor will make Sylvia tap in round 1 or 2… like Nog did…fedor will prob take a few shots, but eventually will wear him down…

i’ve been hearing both sides of the story regarding the ufc as a company and the fighters. i heard tito was on stern saying how the fighters are getting ripped off, which also sounds similar to what couture is saying, and what now appears to be ken shamrock. till now i’ve remained open minded since no one really knows for sure except those who see the UFC’s books and know how much money they really make, but boasting that the fertida’s are now BILLIONAIRES does lend to the point that the fighters may be gettin taken advantage of. i’m all for dana and lorenzo and frank making a ton of money, they did save the sport and made it what it is today. but still, if they wish to continue this path of success, they can’t keep shortchanging the talent that’s gonna get them there. it’s gonna be way to easy to get knocked outa 1st place with the likes of mark cuban who can buy up fighters.

Tim Sylvia should start a new promotion with Kalib Starnes so nobody has to watch their boring ass fights on ppv anymore.

They should make the Hughes/Serra fight the main event at UFC 85. That would be something respectable for the UK fans to see since Chuck is off of the card now. But I doubt that Serra’s medical suspension that will eventually be handed out will allow him to come back that soon. It’s gonna have to take a fight like that to get me to shell out $45 bucks for that event. Nothing else besides the Vera fight intrigues (well maybe Marquardt) but that’s not enought to get me to buy this one.

    GO Shirk…Destroy BJ!

My issue with the fighter’s “salary problems” is the guys raising a stink are on their way out or decline from the prime of their career. That could be because a fighter currently under contract fears saying anything regarding his pay. A fighter who is unhappy with his pay should fight harder to get the extra submission of the night, KO of the night or fight of the night. Sponsors also lend a helping hand here and there. I do think fighters should get paid more and think their time will come. Emlianenko’s pay however, is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion. Who would you guys pull for in a Serra/Hughs fight? They will fight eventually and it will be great because they truly HATE each other. BLOOD!!!

Kimbo is a good street fighter and thats it.He would get killed in the UFC.One punch from Liddell and its over.Hughes will kill Serra.

Looking forward the Hughes/Serra fight…the sooner the better!

People are always talking trash about Kimbo. He can’t help that he’s receiving so much hype and publicity eventhough he’s new to the sport. He’s not making people hype him up or write stories about him, he’s just out there fighting and trying to get better at the sport. I just don’t understand why other fighters are all upset with Kimbo for being hyped up. He’s obviously very marketable. 1) He has the look, 2) He has a compelling story, 3) He already has a big fan base. 4) He’s an exciting fighter It’s more obvious that EliteXC is taking advantage of his marketability. I agree with all of you that he needs stiffer competition, but what you have to understand, he doesn’t pick his opponents “the powers that be” at EliteXC does. They realise that they need to get him more acclimated to this sport and allow him a chance to gain experience and confidence by giving him some softer competition. As far as trash talking, All figthers talk trash! It could be a guy’s very first fight and he’ll talk some smack! Lastly, Kimbo not just a street fighter. He has boxing experience (fought as an ameture before going to prison)….good hands…good head movement and defense….great power but he’s working with Bas Rutten to get better at everything else (BJJ, Muay Thai, & Wrestling). Again, I agree with you guys, he’s not ready for the top dogs in MMA right now but like I said before it’s not his fault everyone is hyping him up!

2girls1cup, with out a doubt there is 2 major problems with our sport today,

1, the fans think a show is more important than a fight, and we are beginning to see mma turn into wwe

2, fighters are treated like they are not important, and get paid even worse, while the UFC could pay 2 or 3 times what thay pay now and still be billionaires.
