To cut a former-champion who just lost a chance at the title and O'Brien just lost his first career fight. Not to mention that they also let Cro Cop go not long ago. Word has it a lot of guys are getting cut because the roster grew so large. The exact number isn't known but there were over 200 fighters on the UFC payroll and unless they're going to do a lot more events or fights per card the roster needed trimmed down, I just don't get why they're cutting the fighters they are. They are trimming their roster down but given the status of the heavyweight division its a pretty extreme process.
