MMA Fighting is reporting that the match that is supposed to headline UFC 72, Rich Franklin vs. Martin Kampmann, has not been confirmed. Here’s a quote from Rich’s media guy, J.T. Stewart, via the article:

“Absolutely nothing has been confirmed regarding Rich’s next fight. Rich is in Alaska and is not in contact with anyone. Nothing has been decided. Period.”

I still have faith that this bout is going to happen as all I’ve heard is rumors confirming it but it appears that this fight may not be as solid as we first believed. I’ll keep an eye on it and pass along any news about this fight.
