The long-awaited UFC video game from THQ, “UFC 2009″, will be officially revealed at UFC 84 on May 24th, the video game publisher has announced.
Last year at E3, an annual video game trade show, an early preview of the game was premiered. Since that release, however, no additional information has been announced. That will come to an end at UFC 84 when the company will reveal additional details about the game including a tentative release date as well as a new trailer.
The game will feature current and former UFC stars and is expected to be an annual release.

I looked it up at the THQ website and XBOX 360 is for sure. Im guessing by the grahpics PS3 will also be another platform.

i no its only a video game but i wonder what will happen if u get a good right hand in will it be like the wwe games were the guy can take a monster beating then still have top power or will u just be able to finish it in one punch haha i sound so sad but i dont even play on psp or x-box haha

ONLINE is where gaming is at. Some single player games are okay but UFC could make online fighter gaming badass. Online tournaments with cash prizes or tickets to an event as other games have done. Leaderboards just like all the other sports games. Does anyone know if it will be online? The best part about online is the UFC could edit the roster when needed. Even better patches can fix any faulty partsa of the game people do not enjoy.
It would be a serious mistake NOT to have the game online. I am an avid gamer along with being an MMA addict. All of the previouse attempts at MMA video games have been shit (except maybe PRIDE for the Playstation) I hope this game can deliver.

THQ, the company making the new UFC game is the same company that made the Pride Fighting game for Playstation.

Finally ive been looking all over the web for some recent news about this game and i found it haha but i will buy this game becuz UFC is awesome and it could make a really good game with a create a character mode and top names and new names such has Brock lesnur, Andrew Silva, Tito , all of um in the UFC

I am definatly gonna buy this even though i am still skeptacle on if they can deliver this as a great product. I sure hope they make it like fight night in some aspects but not others. Fight night had a one button super punch, i dont think that was a great idea. I liked the punch control by the analog sticks because it took more skill to learn and get good. I also hope it is not brought in as an arcade like the wrestling.
there should be one punch knockouts to make it more realistic. like if chuck or one of those guys lands a clean shot it should be easier to finish, but less likely if you land a good shot with someone like hughes. in my opinion this game will look good but gameplay will be lacking, especially on the ground game with the controls.

dude i cant wait for this game, if it sucks i will be devistated by the trailer it looks badass but u cant really know if its a movie or gameplay lets hope that THQ doesn’t f*** this one up and make it another wrestling game,

I’m ready for this game to come out. I’m not expecting perfect, cause I dont think that’s possible with an MMA game, but as long as it has a large list of fighters, unique entrances (i’ve always thought a good way to do this is to use actual videos of fighters entering for an event, use 3-5 different entrances and mix em around so its not always the same, it would be very cool if you could have entrances with a champion wearing the belt for some of the fighters), and a good career mode (including injuries that could shelf your fighter or delay fights as in real life) and I would be happy with it. There’s so much they could do with it, but at the same time, so much they just dont have room, time, etc to do, so, we shall see.
the 360 is gonna hinder development for this game….it should be a ps3 exclusive so they have the space to do everything craig mentioned….come on microsoft get with the times….blu-ray is the future of gaming

Ive heard this game could be released as late as spring 2009. I cant stand the wait. The roster is still likely to be up in the air beacase fighters contracts are performance based. I hope Brock , Wanderlei and Guida can stick around.
I have been waiting for info. on this game for about a year now, and UFC 84 is finally here. I hope the game is as good as my expectations for it. I think it would be amazing if they had a TUF career mode, and after you one you started to fight in the UFC, and if you lost well i guess you would have to start over. I hope there are good fighters in it, I would like to see Alexander, Serra, Anderson Silva, and Karo Perisian (whom i haven’t heard anyone mention yet) I am pretty sure that Joe Lauzon will be in it, becuase he has a myspace pic of him being screened for a game (http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=2779224&albumID=1332382&imageID=25473248) so yea i think this game will kick ass, and get MMA gaming back on the map

im definatly been waiting for the release of this since the e3 2007……and now all excited thinkin they were gonna tell us the release date at ufc84 and still not seeing anything online about it…unless someone finds something out later today….screw it im done i honestly am gonna stop waiting for this game…

Hi guys… Well, I’ve heard nothing too and have looked all over the web!! UFC84 has not revealed anything. To be honest, I’ve kinda given up now on waiting and watching!!!
I am thinking that they may release information on the 31st, when they are having the chuck liddell night, just so they can take veiwers away from the Kimbo Slice fight on the same night. And don’t get your hopes up, cuz its just a guess
They should literally test all of the fighters in real life to get accurate ratings for the characters. It might cost more money than necessary but I think it would be awesome.
If there is no new info soon I wouldn’t be suprised if they are waiting til E3 to release the info. All I know is after E3 there is no new info I am giving up on this game cuz I am tired of waiting and waiting and not hearing anything about it whatsoever. No updates no nothing. They should at least be giving the fans something to get them excited about it.
Hey guys, now, I was stoned when I watched ufc 84 again (my friends got a copy of it) however, from what I saw, some of the fights look like a video game… I don’t have any examples of which fights (not the majors for sure) maybe just some of the filler fights. The lighting just didn’t look right, also when they won the fights, they kinda carry on about their sponsors for a little long, just my opinion. If you can watch the fights again, take a look, see what you think… :)

Its a interview with Marcus Davis talking about getting scanned and all, and it also sais that there will be a playable demo coming out in a few months with forest and Rampage so its worth a look if you are interested about the game
Yeah get your facts straight, i don’t recall seeing any info on the game at all at UFC 84
We went on official word from the company making the game. If it wasn’t ultimately announced that’s their decision but there’s likely a reason for the delay, most likely because the game is running behind schedule.

What, 2009 the EARLIEST? Should be more like 2009 the latest. I’m all for them taking more time to get the game right as opposed to rushing it out and the game end up being crap, but another 6 months? How far behind schedule are they?

The UFC is going to be doing a sneak preview of the game next weekend in Las Vegas so I’d suspect that a new public preview isn’t far off, perhaps even during the finale. Here’s a picture from an email sent out to UFC Fight Club Members:

A new game trailer was released on June 21st, it features Forrest Griffin and Rampage Jackson. It does not look like the first trailer that was showed with Chuck and Jackson but it look pretty damn Good. The realese date will be Spring of 2009, but hope that the rumors are true and that the demo will be release way before that.

There will be a game demo coming out febuary 17, 2009 for xbox and playstaion online, its free but will only feature a training mode with a fighter of your choice. Go to new game downloads on the 17th and it should appear near the top
