UFC Fight Night 13: Matt Hamill vs. Tim Boetsch, Roman Mitichyan vs. George Sotiropoulos

Posted by Kris Karkoski on Feb 13, 2008 at 12:00 am ET14 Comments

Tim Boetsch has again stepped up on short notice and will face Matt Hamill  at UFC Fight Night 13 on April 2nd. MMA Weekly confirmed the replacement with a source close to the fight.

Additionally, UFC.com has added a bout between “The Ultimate Fighter 6″ cast members Roman Mitichyan and George Sotiropoulos to the preliminary card of the event. UFC Fight Night 13 joins UFC 82 and UFC 83 as 10-fight events, a subtle sign that the promotion has likely made 10-fights their new standard.

Wow. All I have to say is WOW! Props to the Barbarian for stepping up against a mean ass opponent. This is gonna be one hell of a fight.

  • jeff says:

It is about time they put houston back in the ring. This will be the fight of the night. Nebraska will be in the house……….

  • Lowcash says:

Damn, dude sure doesn’t need any down time, does he?

I lost money on his last fight, I won’t make that mistake again!

  • scotchydow says:

I highly doubt Boetsch can through Hammil on his head the way he did to Heath, but we will see. I am a fan now.
Can’t wait to see (hopefully) Mitichyan vs. Sotiropoluos. Or at least read about who wins. I would have to pick Mitichyan by submission in the 1st though.
I really like the 10 fight cards they are coming up with. If they can guarentee 6 fight PPVs, it will make the price hike worth it.

  • Jason N. says:

I do like the fact that they have the HD version as same price as regualar version for PPV…now if spike could go HD all would be swell!!!

As for PPV…I feel we are spending over $40 to see the fights, we should be able to either see them all that night, or have them give out a code so we can watch them online for free…instead of making the true fans who pay their hard earned money to see a fight to have to pay more per fight to see the undercard fights…. they are being way too greedy!

  • johnboy says:

hey i called this haha but i think matt will have his way with tim but let me stress i think he will haha never no boetsch could be the next big thing,

be intresting to see that roman to the guy wanted to fight with a broken arm so im guessing hes tough

  • johnboy says:

what do all u pride lovers think bout cro cop leavein the ufc? he was a big dissapointment to me shame really.

  • Jason N. says:

I never heard that….when was that announced? I was very disappointed in that guy… Im not a pride lover, but I loved watching his fights and thought he was going to dominate…but he lost a step…

  • johnboy says:

just seen it on another site hes gone to somewere called DREAM, im a bit gutted but he looked gun shy in his last fight so prob for the best

  • Jason N. says:

yea, I dont think he can win in the UFC…he might as well go to the minor leagues

  • Lowcash says:

They claim he (Cro Cop) was being paid $350k a fight, so obviously with his performances, the UFC had a business decision to make.

  • Kris says:

The Cro Cop story is coming up tomorrow morning…

  • mcanena says:

Hamill is gonna get dumped on his head and he will cry after the fight

  • Brian says:

No way man. Boetsch looks like one of excellent rokies such as Matt Hamill but listen to me clearly….Matt Hamill has a gift. He’s going to kill Boetsch. Trust me. Whatever Matt is challenged (even tho, Bisping trained longer than him), Matt wins. Boestch friking redneck! So is Matt but he is going to W I N., period. We understand what Boetsch said about his wrestling experience. He’s got some fear there, tho. Matt overcomes on each challenge which is why we all love him, He is probably one of most considered humble athletes around world. He DOESN’T want to brag about anything. He wants to change world and showing that the world isn’t perfect. He’s never ceases to inspire everybody everyday.
