Report: UFC To Hold Event in New York City or Boston in 2008
In a recent interview with the Massachusetts-based newspaper The Patriot Ledger, UFC President Dana White revealed the UFC’s plans to hold an event in New England before the end of 2008:
“I’m going to be as bold as to say I guarantee you either we’ll be in the Boston Garden or Madison Square Garden.”
Smaller MMA events are currently permitted in Massachussetts, though the UFC would need additional regulation before an event could proceed. Earlier this week Dan Lauzon, a former-UFC fighter and younger brother of “Ultimate Fighter” standout Joe Lauzon, defeated Frank Latina in the main event of a World Championship Fighting event held in the state.
New York, meanwhile, also has to pass regulations for the sport before the UFC could hold an event in the state.

I REALLY wanted to see Fedor and Couture in Madison Square Gardens (it just made sense) but am looking forward to a HUGE event.

I really hope they come to Madison Square Garden! I will watch any UFC event that comes there and pay top dollar to see it! Dana better make this happen!

My bet is Boston…Dana was just here Friday night…he has a lot of ties here with plenty of draw in the area. To bad Florian and Lauzon couldn’t be on the hometown card…

I don’t get it, when they come to the UK, they got to Newcastle, London, Manchester, Belfast…if they want rabid fans, the best atmo. they can possibly get, come to Glasgow. That’ll be f***** crazy.

I am Joe & Dany Lauzon’s Aunt. Of Course I would want the event in Boston. Both of my Nephew’s have a very large support group here!!! Please bring it to Boston. They are well respected and every fight people now they are going to see a great fight.
