UFC 82: Majority of Card Now Official, Arlovski and Koscheck On Preliminary Card

Posted by Kris Karkoski on Feb 4, 2008 at 5:14 pm ET45 Comments

Earlier today the UFC updated the official UFC 82 “Pride of a Champion” fight card on UFC.com, confirming the majority of the previously rumored bouts for the event with the lone-exception being Chris Leben versus Alessio Sakara. If the lone-remaining rumored bout is confirmed for the event, UFC 82 will be the first of back-to-back PPV events, along with UFC 83, that will feature 10 fights as opposed to the traditional 9 fight card.

Notable fighters Andrei Arlovski, who is reportedly on his way out of the UFC, and The Ultimate Fighter 1 cast member Josh Koscheck will both appear on the untelevised preliminary card of the event.

UFC 82 takes place on March 1st at The Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio and will air on PPV.

  • Lowcash says:

Why does the UFC hate Arlovski?? I love this guy.

Let the rumors begin - is this some kind of punishment?

I know Arlovski wants a long(er) term deal, as this is his last fight under contract, but come on! Is Dana saying “Put on a killer fight and we’ll talk”, but also covering his ass in case it’s a stinker?

  • johnboy says:

wow i didn’t realise how stacked this card was this must be the best card in ufc history, dont understand why koscheck is not on the main card his last fight was for a number1 contender match now sanchez who lost his last 2 fights get air time?? weres the logic in that also the pitbull not on the main card **** man whats going on there he must still be a top guy in the ufc, cant wait for fitch wonder how he will cope with all the expectation on him now, hope herring wins then gets nog again so he can knock the punch bag out and get him out of the ufc, respect to the guy but im just not a fan ov a guy who gets smacked about then wins by sub all the time i hope mir an nog dont go at it what a boreing fight that will be! ide rather watch wayne weems vs blake bowman haha

  • FixXer says:

    Heath Herring vs. Cheick Kongo
    Yushin Okami vs. Evan Tanner
    Chris Wilson vs. Jon Fitch
    David Bielkheden vs. Diego Sanchez

I would trade watching all these fights to watch The Pitbull fight. This is pretty bad.

  • Thumper says:

I gotta say it does seem odd, Tanner v Okami & the Sanchez fight are kinda questionable over The Pitbull and Kos. I am looking forward to the Kongo/Herring fight though it could be a real war. Fitch deserves the main card but Arlovski could easily be the #2 fight on this card.

  • tubekid says:

What we need is more Fight Nights!! 2 a month!! All the cards are getting STACKED…

  • matt b says:

are you guys kidding me. arlovski doesn’t fight.
he is scared to get knocked out. very boring fighter.

  • scotchydow says:

I am sure they are doing it to prove a point. Arlovski was a big time favorite of mine also. What you (we) need to remember is before he went on his STREAK of wins (and taking the heavyweight title) he had a LARGE loosing streak, and was about to be let go. He was a very evtertaining fighter, but in a time when that weight class was (sorry for saying) weak. His last two fights, not just one, were severe stinkers. I think that Sylvia should get a little bit of that punishment as well. If he wins in exciting fashion, we may see his fight, and maybe more, but I kind of see why it is what it is.
On a little different note, why in the bloody hell is Heath Herring still on the main card?!?!?! Even his fights in PRIDE he was a sloppy fighter. Now he is just slower, and sloppier with no KILLER INSTINCT. I hope Kongo kills him. Alright, maybe that was a little harsh. I hope he ends his career though.
man I am kind of a DICK

  • Thumper says:

You are such a DICK, haha. I know what you mean about herring but it could still be a very entertaining fight. Picture it; Kongo picking him apart with accurate strikes while herring swings wildly and slips, gets up and roars inarticulately - and Kongo breaks his Jaw while his mouth is open. Sweet

  • Method Man says:

IF Arlovski is leaving then I suppose I can understand the UFC not showcasing him. But can’t we be told one way or the other? He’s a very popular fighter so a lot of fans getting it on PPV will be disappointed (unless they show his bout in between others later on).

I hope they can work something out.

  • Russ says:

Who I would pick to win?
    1.Dan Henderson
    2.Cheick Kongo
    3.Evan Tanner
    4.Jon Fitch
    5.Diego Sanchez
    6.Andrei Arlovski
    7.Luke Cummo
    8.Josh Koscheck
    9.John Halverson

  • Lowcash says:

Damn, I hope Henderson wins. I seem to be the only guy on the planet that thinks Silva has more luck than skill, and want to see him thrashed.

  • karl says:

well i have never been a dana hater but this is just not right first off arlovski should be fighting kongo on this card with the winner getting the next shot after nog and werdum fight. there are probably only 5 real good HWS in the world and the ufc is about to lose another one. i don’t think the ufc has a more popular HW fighter then arlovski. so what do you do dana put him on the undercard thats smart.

  • Mike McLin says:

Arlovski has had some great KO’s in his time, and I wouldn’t consider him a boring fighter (has he had boring fights…yes). I think it is disrespectful to put him on the undercard after beating the guy (Werdum) that they are giving title shot to. This is obviously a business deal. Also, I think the UFC being able to bully around the fighters is a good short-plan business deal. But the revolt is starting to happen. Fighters are starting to get upset. New organizations with real money are starting to popup. The UFC turned MMA into big-business. And when that happens the big dogs come out with their big wallets. This is a bad time to start disrespecting and not being loyal to your fighters.

All I know is Andre v Fedor looks very interesting. 2 great fighters. Sambo vs Sambo. Russia vs Belarus (borders Russia). That seems like an intriguing matchup. Especially considering that the UFC has many of the heavies locked up. I could see AA making some big dough outside of the UFC.

  • Artc says:

Sad to say but this is the beginning of the end. Now that UFC has blown up, i personally don’t think Dana White is the right man to be the UFC president.

  • Jedah says:

I hope they at least air the fight. Arlovski is my 2nd fav fighter, I been waiting for almost a year to see him fight again!

  • micjasbro says:

“more luck than skill” — WOW, just … wow.

  • Jason N. says:

People should stop judging Arlovski for his last fight - yea, it was boring….but a win is a win - and he has been in some great fights… but what everyone has not seemed to mention is who he is fighting!! Jake O’Brian!!! This kid is going to be a tough challenger in the hvwy weight division. I can easily see him winning! And if he does win, you can bet your house that the UFC will show that fight either before or after the main event! But regardless, a big name vs a solid contender who is undefeated…that should be shown before Heath Hearring vs….ANYONE…. I would rather see KOS fight his fans before watching Diego fight anyone - I used to like Diego but I got sick of him, I was more of a KOS fan then and Im a huge fan now - so hopefully it will still get shown!

  • mike B says:

I think Dana might be airing the Sanchez fight as opposed to the Koscheck fight because he thinks the no-name (Bielkheden) that Sanchez is fighting might completely destroy him. Koscheck will probably beat Hazelett but it’s gonna be drawn out and boring. I’m very curious to see how Tanner’s big comeback is going to go against Okami - Tanner was a beast a few years back, it will be exciting to see if he can bring it against a tough guy like Okami. I’m rooting for Henderson as well, but Silva is an absolutely beautiful striker…excellent card overall.

  • scotchydow says:

“….more luck than skill…”???!!!??? What in the HELL are you smoking???? The only luck he has had is the fact that the UFC took this long to get Hendo to fight at Middleweight. Silva is ONE OF THE BEST STRIKERS IN ANY SPORT IN THE WORLD-PERIOD. Hendo has expanded his game to be able to throw down with the best of them. Remember Rampage and Wandi couldn’t knock him out. I do pick Dan to win, but it should be a classic BATTLE.
O’Brian is no slouch. I am an Arlovski fan, but he hasn’t been the same since he lost to Sylvia(the first time)
I like Tanner, but not to win. If Yushin Okami would have fought the whole Franklin fight like he did in the 3rd round, I think he would have defeated Rich. I think if Okami comes in confident, he will beat Tanner.
It will be very interested to see how well Sanchez bounces back from defeate as well. Fitch, Kongo, and Kos should win as well.

  • Eddyr92806 says:

This will be the 4th great card in a row, 5 out 6 if you count the fight nights. Holy crap the Main Event is the ish and there are 6 other fights on the card i really want to see!

How will Henderson do vs. Silva’s striking? How will Silva vs. Henderson clich game? I feel that Silva win but only because when you have two fighters with equal skills i aways say “Go with the Brazilian”.

I also want to see Kongo go K-1 on Herring. The Okami/Tanner should be great. I want to he how Fitch does with the spot light on him. I feel Sanchez should have gone down to LW and fought Roger in Mexico City. Arlovski and Koscheck make the PPV.

You have to give it up to Dana and Joe to putting together an other great card.

  • Cory says:

Believe me the Jon Fitch fight will be good, but Arlovski should be on the main card…very bizarre.

  • Nikko says:

Dana White…You Idiot! You have overcome traditionalists and have created a venue where the young and old wait impatiently to pay for your product. But the same stubborn and bullish attitude that made you successful may altimately distroy the UFC. The UFC, reguardless of what people want to argue, is the premiere MMA venue…The big leagues! The fighters are world class and dispite the controversy over who would beat who in the cage between the numerous leagues, the UFC has proven dominate. Even the great Fedor may not dominate in the UFC as he did in Pride. That being said, Andrei Arlovski is one of MMA’s most exciting and talanted fighters. Regardless of record, AA is capable of beating anyone at anytime. His fighting style is continuously improving and his fights are exciting. Sylvia#3 was a boring fight but AA was clearly injured and I never once read where AA made any excuses. The Werdum fight was also a boring fight but he won it! Werdum is clearly a talanted fighter who may very well be the next champ. AA is young, althletic, intelligent and a class act. He is one of the top heavy weights in the world and you are screwing with him! You have failed to sign Fedor or keep Randy. You are about to lose AA, TiTo and many more. Yes, the UFC is a machine and has phenominal fighters but the young up and commers will not carry this league without having a chance to fight the established fighters for the world to see. Gonzaga and Kongo, for example, would not draw attention to your average consumer if they didn’t fight Cro Cop. You and your investors certainly make a profit and your altheles are clearly under paid. You may have over estimated Cro Cops ability and you may have over paid him, however, I will still pay to watch him on a card. AA is the only fight I will pay for on the upcoming card. AA, Fedor, Randy and others will continue to fight in MMA venues around the world and that is where I will be spending my money. Greed ruined the oldest and the most traditional sport of boxing paving the way for you to make money. Please think about the future of the sport and your legacy.

  • Arlovski says:

UFC used to be different from boxing i.e. champion spoonfeed crap fighters, after crap fighters.

Now the UFC keep good fighters away from fighting and offer ****ty contracts to the best ‘Fedor’. So now UFC is no longer the place where the Champion is really the real Champ.E.g Anderson Silva is the current Champ in the UFC in his weight class but come on, there were a lot better fighters than him in PRIDE.

A fighter is born to fight, not kiss Dana and his friends’ ass. Dana should respect that even if he does or does not like a figher’s attitude.

Talking about attitude, Rich Franklin & Matt Hugh are dick heads, you can clearly see that in the Ultimate fighter series. Dana was over protective of these dicks, glad to see them back on earth where they deserve.

  • drew says:

Give the fans the fight they want? Isn’t that what Dana’s always saying? I like what he’s done for the sport and even when he’s been a bit out of line, I’ve supported him because of that. But this fight card is a discrace. Where is the Kongo - Arlovski fight? Herring? Are you kidding? Even if he wins(which does happen)WTF. If a guys been a champ he deserves a little respect, business aside. Boring fight? This is a sport still? Not WWE. This is the most I’ve been upset since the Fedor debocle. Even a passive fan could recompile that fighters on this card into 4 fights everybody wants to see and 4 you can watch on the internet later. If I see a few more cards like this (big fight aside) I’m gonna have to assume that you guys are right and Dana does think he’s bigger than the sport. Dana remember when you said that there is no more easy fights in the UFC?
BTW didn’t KOS dominate Sanchez? Is this how they thank him for steppin up to GSP?

  • Jason N. says:

Isn’t it funny how everyone seems to bite the hand that feeds them!?!? Seriously people… look.. where would the UFC be if it wasnt for Dana White? Sure the guy has an ego, but name 1 sales person who doesn’t!!! If it wasn’t for Dana, I know I prob would have never been into UFC/MMA as much as I am now! It was the season 1 reality show that sparked my interest. The fight between Bonnar and Griffen that really peaked my interest! Since then, I haven’t missed a show or a ppv (except the BJ Penn/Stevenson one - boring! - except the main event)

So all I’m saying is that there is always a method to the madness…sure everyone would love Fedor to be with UFC - sure they would love Arlovski fight on the main card vs a bigger name than O’Brian, but just wait - Jake COULD beat AA..

There is always something in the background going on that us avg joes dont know about, there is specultion that its all Dana’s ego for when something goes wrong - but does anyone praise the guy when he brings in the pride fighters? Gives us big cards? Just be happy the UFC is what it is! Because 1 day it will be gone!!!

  • Tim D. says:

Your exactly right one day the ufc will be gone. Overtaken by wec or someother venue. Also Dana King did not put the ufc where it is by himself. First it was the fighters then the fans, if fighters will fight and fans will watch all you need is an accountant to manage money. By the way a true fan of mma is a fan because of the fighters not because of Dana King. I was watching before him and I’ll be watching after he’s gone, unlike some people I’m attracted to the sport not Dana King.

  • Jason N. says:

Yea, well I KNEW about UFC prior to Dana too but how often was UFC on tv? How often was UFC put in the public’s eye before Dana? My point exactly..

You can have the best fighters in the world, but like anything…..you can have the best product in the world but no one will know about it unless its advertised smartly… (if thats a word)

WEC will NEVER be in the same ball park as UFC.. EVER…their champions would get stomped by over half the fighters in the UFC in their weightclass… sure..Faber is a stud, but thats about it…Condit, Razor Rob, Marshall, etc.. they are good, but no where near the talent the UFC has…if they were, why arent they in the big show??

All I’m saying is Dana White has done alot for the sport, and put it on the map…saved it from going away!!! The UFC was going bankrupt until he saved the day with help of course from zuffa, etc… and no, I’m not a relative of Dana - but I like what he’s done for UFC, and my memory is failing me right now…but he isnt the man who makes the matchups…isnt it that Joe..guy? I cant think of his name, sorry…but he puts the card together…no?

  • Tim D. says:

In fact if you will go read Dana’s last press conf. you will read were he said I give the fans the matches they want to see. By the way boxing is still promoted by some of the best promoters in the world and it is still in bad shape. Look at why that is and tell me that Dana doesn’t have the ufc headed in the same direction. By the way bringing in new fans is great but if you loose your true mma fans doesn’t that defeat the purpose. Just wondering. As for the wec and other venues if the big name fighters continue to sign elsewhere how long can the ufc continue to lose big name fighters, and still be competitive. Didn’t the ufc start somewhere hence wec. Plus the wec has a leg up on the ufc now just because it doesn’t cost 45 bucks to watch an event.just a thought.

  • Jason N. says:

Dont get me wrong, the fact we can watch the WEC for free is very nice…I will NEVER complain about that….but the PPV is set so they can give the fighters more money to stay with the UFC… its sad how money rules everything…. but thats just life…

Yes, boxing has good promoters and has gone to crap…bc the fighters are not AS good as they used to be….but they dont have GREAT promoters either….plus in my opinion, boxing is boring to watch….but thats just my opinion…

As for Dana….yes, the fighters do make the UFC what it is…but before dana, no one (except the hardcore fans) knew most of the fighters..only a handfull…since Dana, fans can rattle off 50+ fighters…he brought these guys into the sport.. the reality stars, pride fighters, etc….so THEY are saving the sport and making it what it is.. but if it wasnt for Dana getting these guys - who knows where it would be…

  • Arlovski says:

“If it wasn’t for Dana, I know I prob would have never been into UFC/MMA as much as I am now! ”

    My response

If it wasn’t for the UFC then I would still be watching Fedor in Pride. Just look up Fertitta on the internet, they are Italian mobs. The destroyed PRIDE. Took out their broadcasting rights in Japan and then bought it at a dirt price. Then maltreat all their good fighters.

  • scotchydow says:

“…..Joe something…” Joe Silva, who is also a promoter, is the match maker. I am sure Dana has some “influence”. There will always be contractual problems, and there will always be the UFC. I have been a fan since the begining, and I must say, the sport is MUCH, MUCH MORE EXCITING now than when it was just billed to displace Brazilian Jitz. It sucks to see fighters like Randy Couture have to leave because HE wants a fight that HIS PROMOTION can’t set up. I love Couture, but it is not the UFC’s fault that they couldn’t get Fedor. It happens. Fighters will come and go. It’s the nature of the beast.

  • Arlovski is not on the main card cause his fights have been boring and no one wants to see 2 dudes dance around for three rounds, same for koshek has the same problems only when he takes people down does he ground and pound, other than that boring, as far as for Jorge has problems finishing fights althought I do like his battles, he doesnt submit or TKO always decision. Luke Cumo okay for 1st round all the rest is hugging and no one wants to see that, Everyone wants to see Wanderlei type fights where people are throwing down even Shogun is a good example of that, cats who throw hands is where its at.

  • Big Marv says:

There is no way in hell O’Brien can beat AA! He doesn’t have the stand up ability as AA has. I would love to see Frank come back to the UFC the fight between him and Ken I think is just a publicity stunt to get more money. That’s like a Gracie going against another Gracie it shouldn’t happen.

  • Jason N. says:

No way in hell O’Brien cant win?!?! Are you on crack?? I’m not saying he is better, but what I am saying ANYTHING can happen in the UFC. I’m sure you were the same person who said…there is no way in hell Serra can beat GSP…or Jardine could beat Liddell….or even Forrest would beat Sho-Gun…

Yea..anything can happen, its more likely AA will beat O’Brien…but its not a given. I don’t know if I will buy this PPV…only reason is that I think I’m more intriqued with the undercard than I am with the main card!! (well…minus the main event obviously) But I’d rather see KOS or Diego over Evan Tanner..Chris Leban….I’d rather see AA vs O’brien over Kongo vs the gay cowboy… only fights on the main card I want to see it Silva/Henderson and the Fitch fight….

  • Big Marv says:

The only way I can see O’Brien winning is if he comes in there with a bat! And who in the hell would wanna see Kos and Sanchez fight again that fight was so boring. They hyped it up enough at the weighins, but not enough to wanna watch them fight again. So Jason stop smoking that stuff at lunch time because your brain is over loading!

  • Jason N. says:

Did I say I wanted to see that fight? no…I said i wanted to see them fight, you know…they are on the card…KOS vs someone…Diego vs someone.. so its not me smoking…

Its ok, I mean, you dont give people credit in the UFC…I guess you dont think anything is possible…like I mentioned of the previous fights…or hell..how bout those pats…19-0 huh? Yea, upsets NEVER happen…good call

  • Eddy F. says:

I agree! I can’t believe arlovski is on the undercard! It’s almost like they want him to leave.Unbelievable!!

I wud definitely trade in all those fights to watch AA beat da crap out of irish!!!

  • Nikko says:

Can someone give me a reason why the UFC or some other league can’t hold a tournament, say the top sixteen seeds in each weight class, in which the fighters get a typical UFC salary of $50,000 per fight. The winners continue down the bracket until the final “superfight” in which the winner takes all, say $10,000,000 or whatever the standard boxer gets these days for a championship bout. The tournament could start in January and the Finals in December. They could have unlimited rounds to prevent a split decision and they could hold a PPV every other month or even every other week if they spilt weight classes. They could also host free fights on Spike for the up an commers to earn a spot on the next years tournament. $10 MIL would guarantee quality fights - 1st 16 seeded Heavy Weights could be:
    Fedor
    Big Nog
    Sylvia
    Couture
    Arlovski
    Cro Cop
    Werdum
    Gonzaga
    Kongo
    the gay cowboy
    Mir
    Vera
    Aleksander
    Hunt
    Barnett
    Open
I would pay for every event!

  • mike B says:

The business side of the MMA world is as unforgiving as MMA itself. Even though Sanchez is coming off 2 loses (including 1 to Kos) and Kos is coming off a loss to GSP and the lackluster win over Sanchez, these two TUF1 veterans have been more successful and exciting than Chris Leben, their fellow TUF1 fighter who, despite this, is on the main card while Sanchez and Kos are on the prelim. This is because of Leben’s recent knockout of Terry Martin. In the UFC, it seems, a fighter is only as useful as his last big victory (save for super-big names like Liddell, Shogun, or Wanderlei Silva.) This is exactly how Houston Alexander’s popularity skyrocketed after 2 big wins, and other guys like Sanchez who have impressive records but are coming off unexciting fights are cast back into obscurity. If Kos, Sanchez, or Arlovski want to get back to the main card in the future, they need big, dramatic knockout wins. Otherwise, they will be pushed back down into obscurity until they’re gone from the fight game.

  • Artc says:

Mike B i can see how you think your theory is valid but i strongly diagree. case in piont TIm Sylvia, Mirko Cro-Cop. enough said.

  • Mike B says:

    Artc,
I hear you, but you just proved my point. After the loss to Couture, the underwhelming win over Vera, and now the loss to Minotauro, Sylvia is pretty much on his way out. Though he is a great fighter, the excitement factor isn’t where it used to be with him. The same goes for Cro Cop. 2 losses in a row, including the massive head-kick by Gonzaga and the clear-cut decision win by Kongo. It’s been awhile now since both Sylvia and Cro Cop have had exciting bouts go in their favor. The only reason Sylvia got the title bout was because he was the last to hold the belt before Couture. Cro Cop is farther from title contention than he has been in years. Meanwhile, guys like Kongo, Fitch, Lauzon, Huerta, and others have been pushing the sport in exciting new dirctions. It’s a good the TUF8 will be heavyweights; the division badly needs an injection of quality talent.

  • Jon Huntley says:

To all those who say Andrei Arlovski is a boring fighter:

Your basis for this is because he has had two boring fights in his last three? If this is your contention I’d call you noobs to the sport. The truth is many fighters have lame fights. It happens. In Arlovski’s case he had a lackluster fight with Tim Sylvia - largely due to injury in second round (knee injury) from a leg kick which he did not report during fight and was suspended for 6 weeks as a result. His next fight was with Marcio Cruz which he knocked out on the ground - doesn’t seem boring to me. Then he fought Fabricio Werdum who is VERY dangerous on the ground and would likely have submitted Arlovski and most anybody else. To add to that, Arlvoski was PROMISED a title fight if only he won the fight. He fought a smart fight in that he did not leave himself open for a takedown. His apprehension had nothing to do with a fear of being knocked out - it was an avoidance of going to the ground which his coaches told him to do. If you were fighting in his shoes with all the above circumstances, would you have fought differently? A guaranteed title shot if he won? Hmmm… I don’t know. If you say you would, you are probably not being honest. It seems easy to me. So point is, Arlovski has had two “boring” fights, both for very different reasons and NOT consecutive. The guy is 29 years old and still an amazing fighter. Most of his fights he has won and by knockout. He is not washed up and he has a lot of years to improve. So please, stop taling because you really are jumping to conclusions and drawing bogus conclusions based on INCOMPLETE information and I just have little tolerance for people talking like they know what they are talking about but really don’t. And yes, Arlovski is one of my favorite fighters, but I actually backed up my claims with evidence. Where is your’s rs?

  • scotchydow says:

I base my opinion of Arlovski’s worth on his last three fights, and his first 5. I am DEFINATELY no noob. Arlovski was on his way out of the UFC before he made his run at Tim Sylvia and the title. His fights were boring, but then something started a fire under his ass, and he started knockin people around. Then something happened, the fire went out, and he got a George Micheal hair cut(oh, and stopped FIGHTING like he gave a ****) I was a fan of THE PITBULL, but have no care in seeing the guy who fought Sylvia 3 times, or squeeked that fart of a match out with Cruiz. And GOOD RIDENCE TIM SYLVIA (SORRY FIXXER) He will be a big name (and threat) in another promotion, but can’t hang with the UFC. He fought well against Nog for 2 rounds, but you need a ground game in the UFC (and no I am not an ICEMAN fan either, he better learn some new tricks as well)

  • Tim D. says:

scotchydow, since we’re going to use that analogy. Then we must use it on everyone, so see you latter Sylvia, Bonner, Forrest, Chuck, Tito, Houston, Wanderlei, Cro Cop, oh whats that other guys name is it Brock, and you can’t say he’s young and can learn everyone can do that. Your probably wondering why I put some these guys in this, it’s because they have only one style of fighting, and if that style fails they are seriously screwed. We should be careful before attacking someone over one style of fighting. Most fighters only have one effective style. Most often they lose in the style they are not very good in. Just saying most people have justified Brock, yet throw Sylvia to the dogs for the same reason.

  • scotchydow says:

Tim, I agree. Liddel might be on his way out. Tito is probablly on his way out. By-By Cro-Cop, Should have learned a couple more moves. Have fun in Japan. Houston Alexander isn’t a top $$$ guy yet, so he can stay and learn (or be fed to the wolves)
Now I do have a problem putting Forrest, Bonner, and Wandy in this catagory though. Forrest and Bonner are TRUE MMA ARTISTS. Bonner holds a black belt in Gracie BJJ and has a pair of golden gloves to pull them up with. Forrest has been knocking guys around since he entered the UFC, and has choked a few too (anyone heard of “Shogun” Rua??!!) As far as Wandy goes-one sided, yes. Lame ass tuck your tail and run-NEVER. The guy lives or dies by the sword, but LEAVES IT IN THE CAGE OR RING.
And lastly, IN NO WAY DO I JUSTIFY PAYING BROCK LESNAR 250K TO FIGHT. As a crowed lure, yes. But to pay him that (and say that’s what it’s for) is an insult to veteran fighters all over the MMA world. He will be a star, but make him earn it.
