Medical Suspensions Handed Out to Six UFC 81 Fighters
Six of the eighteen fighters who participated in bouts at UFC 81 “Breaking Point” have received medical suspensions from the Nevada State Athletic Commission, according to documents MMAFrenzy.com has received directly from the NSAC. Among the suspended fighters were headliners Frank Mir and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
Official Medical Suspensions for UFC 81
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (defeated Tim Sylvia via)
Suspended until March 2nd with no contact until February 24th.
Frank Mir (defeated Brock Lesnar)
Scalp laceration; Suspended until March 2nd with no contact until February 24th.
Kyle Bradley (defeated by Chris Lytle)
Right facial lacerations; Suspended until March 19th with no contact until March 2nd.
David Heath (defeated by Tim Boetsch)
Nasal fracture; Must be cleared by doctor or no contest until August 1st; Minimum suspension until April 3rd with no contact until March 19th.
Marvin Eastman (defeated Terry Martin)
Right upper eyelid laceration; Suspended until March 2nd with no contact until February 24th.
Keita Nakamura (defeated by Rob Emerson)
Suspended until March 19th with no contact until March 2nd.

Damn… I’m still bummed about the Lesner outcome. I’m not sure Mir even landed a punch.. it’s no wonder he was medically suspended, his face was mush.
Anyway, thank god for your Bodog advertising – I went 7-9 and made some decent change. Lesner and Heath let me down, though.
Mir’s face wasn’t that messed up, but the punch in the back of his melon cut him. You could see him check it when they stood them up. He knew there would be a medical suspension, but still got the job done.
Of course Mir turned his head into the back of the head punch. Only thing that won him the fight was he had experience and Lesner doesn’t have any in MMA.
His face was mush? Comeon that is complete crap. I am sick of all the hype about Lesnar ‘raining blows’ on Mir. Go back and watch the fight again; count the blows that Lesnar lands before the stoppage. Count the misses and those that land and come back here and tell me how many landed with enough force to hurt Mir. I don’t care how big Lesnar is without posturing up and getting proper leverage you cannot hurt someone when you are lying on top of them. We have seen this time and again in MMA.
What does medical suspension mean ?
Does it mean they don’t fight or paid in hospital ?
A medical suspension is simply a precaution by the athletic commission to prevent potentially injured fighters from participating in a bout until they are fully healed. The dates listed above are maximum dates but fighters can return as soon as they are cleared by a doctor, though in most cases their next fight would not occur until their maximum suspension was over anyways.
Brock dominated the fight and got caught with a cheap leg-lock cause of lack of experience. By the way I thought the officials warn you before they stop the fight?

Post fight mir was asked if he did that intentionally & he grinned & said “no,But a W is a W”.
I don’t know but prefight mir looked scared to me.
Brock was not prepared or had any grappling experience? So, why is it, that some are calling a submission, cheap? So, I guess if Frank Mir, would of knocked him out, it would of been a cheap shot or, Brock had no experience getting punched? He entered a Mixed martial arts event.
I think that the only people, that are defending Brock are the ones who follow worked fights in wrestling.
Since when is a knee bar “cheap” ?? I said before the fight and will say it again, Lesnar has/had NO business being in the ring with Mir. If it wasnt for the his motorcycel accident, Mir wouldve been reigning champ and Lesnar had one MMA fight against a last minute replacement in K1 legends or heros or whatever crap it was. It was a novelty. Period. When would a guy with 1-0 record get a chance against a guy like Mir?? Mir would beat him again today and twice tomorrow. And also, what a tool Brock is for saying in his post fight interview “we questioned his heart” UH? What? You and your weak ass camp questioned Mirs heart? Right, that makes sense, The came back to compete after being almost a cripple after his bike wreck. Ya that made sense Brock.
