what a great night of fights
i went 6-3 for the night.
BIG congrats 2 marvin eastman 4 his first win in the ufc
and im glad mir won but some big props 2 lesnar the guy is a monster and has a good mma career ahead of him
and congrats 2 BIG NOG event thought i wanted silvia 2 win he pulls out another come back win
Nate also did great 2 day and i give props 2 emerson beacuse alot of people thought he wouldnt win but beat the odds.
Lytle look great in his fight as well
Rob Yundt give him props to take a fight in 3 days
and im sure theyll bring him back Boestch also looked good 2 .
CONGRATS 2 ALL THE FIGHTERS WHO WON 2NITE
that was a big fight card it went alot different than i had imagined it lesner does need some jujitsu training but i am glad mir rose to the challenge cause now he wont be stuck as a stepping stone. now i hope they resign lesner for a bit lower paying contract. overal it looks like the ufc fantasy guys had a bad night i was ranked 99 outta 11000 and i scored only 109
That is funny I was 98 in the fantasy ranking last night. Lesner does need some Jujitsu training. Big Nog looked good as the rounds went on. I would like to see a Mir rematch with Sylvia and if he wins that he gets his title shot.
wow i gues we was all in the 90s
i was ranked 90th
I want to see Lesnar vs Sylvia next!!
that would be an interesting fight.. a powerhouse in lesnar.. and a guy who thinks he is one in sylvia.. Lesnar needs to learn some BJJ or go mess with liddell and learn some serious takedown defense
f***ing well pissed off bout the syliva nog fight, why cant people finish nog off annoying as f***, hes the most overrated fighter ive ever seen gets his head knocked about till the other guy cant go on then just submit people i wonder if he can feel pain?
gutted about lesnar fight the guy look like he had it in the bag then again another submission outa no were realy. steve won the fight for mir it wa one tap to the back ov the head it happens all the time and never gets stoped think steve wanted to make a point to lesnar,
horn needs to retire now looked in bad shape and got destroyed,
big respect to boetsch guy looked like a beast i think heath just thought he wa guna knock him out didn’t bring his game at all
went 5/4 on my picks bit gutted because the two heavyweight matches shoulda gone the other way as i had them.
when the time out was called i was like wow, now frank mir is gonna win over some bs call. then guess what, frank mir is yet again on his back (what a shock) and reached over to grab brocks ankle… seriously though everyone underestimated brocks standup power he couldve easily KOd frank.
and no, tim sylvia would woop the **** out of brock without a doubt.
Johnboy if you review the fight again you’d see that Lesnar actually hit Mir like 5 times on the back of his head. I counted after watching it over. I think it was good call, the UFC always states that the fighter safety is important. This was one of the best fight cards put together-props to Joe Silva. I was really hoping that Horn would have put together a win, he came so close with the gogoplata. Also, if Lesnar drops a bit more weight he may be able to move a bit faster than he did in his fight with Mir, he just seemed a bit stiff.
I believe that they (rightfully) took the poit from Brock because he was swinging wildly without an attempt to avoid punching Mir in the back of the head. Last night when I watched the fight I thought Mir got lucky to survive that fight, but after watching it again, I see that Mir kept pretty good control over the WHOLE match.
I was hoping that Sylvia would win so Mir could take his belt again, but I guess Lesnar kicking his ass is good enough.
Lytle finally gets a well deserved win, love that guy, he just ends up on the short end of the stick in a lot of well fought fights.
Jeremy Horn took that fight on VERY short notice, so I can understand about his conditioning, but he fought well. Marrquart about popped his head off though. I don’t believe he needs to retire, but he may want to move to the WEC, or another “diet” league.
The Nog/Sylvia fight went about the way I thought. I had picked Tim to win by KO, but also knew that he had to do it by the end of the 2nd. I wish that there was a wadger for “KO by Sylvia in the 2nd or submission by Nog after the 2nd” cause I would have made some dough on that one.
I was also REALLY surprised by Boestch. I thought he looked nervous at the way ins so I took Heath. Couldn’t have been more wrong. And can’t end without giving HUGE PROPS to Tyson Griffin’s “hand game”. My liver still hurts from watching those punches.
Danielle,
Mir was done. End of sentence. He turned away and gave the back of his head cuz at that point that was his only defense. He took advantage of a loop hole and it paid off. In reality when a guy turns away like that he’s done. He gave up. He had nothing for Lesnar at that point in the fight. I’m a mir fan as well as a brock fan and I’m glad mir’s career will be resurrected by this fight but in reality I think brock owned him. Brock will be a force to reckon with especially once he gets some more training in MMA. He already has the work ethic for it.
Lesnar did hit him in the back of the head several times. I think they Mazagatti did a great job in taking the point away from Lesnar. Lord Mark…how long have you been watching MMA?
“In reality when a guy turns away like that he’s done”
These guys are fighters and they are not done until they are unconcious or they tap. From what I seen Brock was the only one that was tapping. He was way overhyped and is not ready for the UFC elite yet. I am suprised they didnt start him out against someone a little weaker to build his confidence a little bit. Those little hammer fists he was doing on the ground didnt phase Mir. Mir will be the next Heavyweight champion and will hold on to it for a long time in this division that is supposably “stacked”. Very high props to Mir on the win and props to Brock for taking the fight with minimal experience…..he just shoulda kept his cockiness to himself.
Horn is only 32 years old and has won 88 fights….he will be back. He never really looks like the most athletic person so you never know his power until you are in there with him. I figured Nate would win, but I was rootin fer Horn.
First if Brock could have ko’d Frank, he would have if frogs had wings they would not bump their rear end every time they jump. 2 what do you mean standup they were on the ground, what fight were you watching. 3 do you watch mma if so you know many fighters turn their back and go on to win. 4 it’s not whether or not you take a beating during a fight but whether or not you win. For some retard to say nog is a wimp does he not have the belt stupid if he’s such a wimp you fight him. 5 as for Brock losing weight and getting faster not going to work any mma athlete will tell you, you focus on lifting a ton and my speed will beat you most of the time having huge muscles hurts you in mma. 6 my biggest problem with Brock is he ran his mouth about 195 pound Randy taking the heavy weight belt. This from a guy with a now 1-1 mma record. Go back and be a soap opera star you stupid TROLL. They can fix your fights there or should I say your rehersed play.
was so pleased that mir won and showed that lesnar or anyone cant just come into ufc and take what they want.lesnar will be a force if he works his way up. nog deserves so much credit for coming through 1st 2 rounds like he did and pulling off the win. the guy has a head like a rock! sylvia also looked better than in recent fights he just couldnt finish nog off.
