A long awaited matchup between middleweights Alessio Sakara and Jorge Rivera has been scrapped again from next Saturday’s UFC 133 event after Sakara was forced to withdraw from the main card bout with a torn ACL.
Rivera announced on The MMA Hour that he is now expected to face Constantinos Philippou, who was slated to meet Rafael Natal on UFC 133′s preliminary card.
Sakara and Rivera were previosly scheduled to fight at August’s UFC 118 and November’s UFC 122, but a broken arm to Rivera and illness to Sakara canceled both fights.
UFC 133 is headlined by a rematch between former light heavyweight champions Rashad Evans and Tito Ortiz.

Besides this being the year of tito and rampage, this is definitely the year of injuries… :)
Well, no other conclusions to make than the obvious: this card has been cursed with voodoo magic.

I have seen every event since I got hooked, way back at UFC 59. Have been to 6 live events and paid for every card I wasn’t at a bar for. And never have I seen such crap. When do you say, cna’t do this card or when is it become free.
I guess all 350 fighters are gonna collect benefits this year :)
……………. uh oh . If this keeps up Dana may revoke the insurance just to keep the cards together .
Why don’t they just promote the Hamill vs. Gustufsson fight to the main card. I don’t want to see Jorge Rivera fight this dude!
