You can add Randy Couture to the list of fighters that have gotten on Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s bad side. “Rampage” took to Twitter last night to vent his frustrations about Couture’s prediction that he would lose to Matt Hamill at UFC 130.
Couture makes predictions for major fights in videos for Affliction Clothing, which produce his Xtreme Couture brand of clothing. “Rampage” endorsed Xtreme Couture clothing for a number of years, and was last seen sporting the brand before his bout with Rashad Evans at UFC 114 in May of last year.
Couture was the first to Tweet about the falling out:
“It sucks that rampage would take an objective pick on a fight personally . He’s a great guy and a friend . All the best to him !”
“Yes the hamill pick . I thought hamill would eek out a Dec. In that fight and rampage took it personal . They’re objective and I’m wrong alo”
“Rampage” responded with some choice words for the hall of famer:
“F*** @Randy_Couture I used 2 rep his line, and he always picked my opponents over me,at 1st it was cool till hamill #has been”
“@Randy_Couture f*** u dude,u a fake a** has been,I was a real friend and kept my mouth shut when I didn’t know if u would win or lose”
“Rampage” was able to prove Couture wrong and parlayed his decision win over Hamill at UFC 130 into a title shot against current champion Jon “Bones” Jones.
Jones engaged in a war of words with Rashad Evans earlier this year on the popular social-networking site as well, proving that the Octagon is sometimes not big enough to contain the competitive side of its fighters.
Time will tell if this exchange between Jackson and Couture is simply a minor misunderstanding or the beginning of a nasty public feud.

I predict fans will make this bigger than what it is
Dude, Vegas isn’t even taking odds on the prediction.
Rampage should be concentrating on his fight with Jones and not stupid childish tweets about stuff that doesn’t matter. If it bothers him that much just don’t wear Randys clothing line and leave it at that.
Those are some big words from a guy who lost his belt to Forrest Griffon. I mean it’s one thing to say you don’t like Randy, but the guy has held the belt multiple times in two divisions and at total different eras of the sport. Rampage beat Hammill kinda handedly, but Jones was destroying Hammill. So at least Quentin will get his just due’s in a little while.
both these guys are heros ov mine i just hope randy doesn’t come out ov retirement an fight rampage
I will say it flat out. Randy was never any good. Randy had 4 titleshots coming off of losses.GET real. He got to fight vitor “i never win a big fight” belfort like 3 times. He didnt even beat vera. His record is so padded with loser like gonzaga, and silva. Ufc had no talent in the hw div for years, and yet his record is still avg at best.
so your a “regular season” guy? Randy never could control who was holding the belt at the time of when he got his title shot. However he did have control over taking opponents belt. Records don’t really mean anything. Look at other sports. Didn’t the green bay packers just have an OK record going into playoffs? Hockey definitely proves that records don’t mean shit.
I know mma doesn’t have playoffs, but they do have dana white and joe silva who will throw anyone remotely close to a big draw, regardless of win, skills, etc, into a title fight. I respect your opinion, but it is flawed. The fact that he did most of his fine work at the age of 40 is very impressive in it’s own. Watch the brock fight. At the time he was the toughest challenge for brock, at age 40.

and a big epic fail to you glassman6, your brain and mma knowledge is dormant at best :)
Muaythi4life, why you saying losing to forrest was so bad, Forrest is a great fighter and guy.. there is no shame in that.. But Rampage needs to get over somebody picking against him.. so childish, Randy has never said anything negative about you bro.. Worry about your fight with Bones Jones than who is predicting your fights.
I like Forrest as a guy and as a fighter, but he is in no ways someone who dominates opponents, or is a fighter that *should* have beaten Rampage. Forrest has a questionable chin, a sparring style of boxing, but a lot of heart and great kicks. Rampage SHOULD have beaten Forrest handedly and to call Randy’s skill set into question is kinda silly.
That being said, Randy is a great fighter. He managed to stay competitive far longer than a lot of other fighters of his era. To be one of the first UFC HW champions is nice and impressive, but to come back a decade or so later and win that same title again is epic. Rampage couldn’t hold on to that belt in a time that was suppose to be ‘his’.
What sucks is that when Rampage loses to Jones (my prediction) he will not blame it on his skills being inadequate, he will simply say that he has lost the fire to compete in this sport, but he will definitely not consider himself a has-been I dare say.
Well said. His focus should be on his next fight and what he’s gonna tell his fans after he gets smashed by “Bones”!
Does Randy “not being good” make him unable to chose a winner of a fight?
Rampage lost to Forrest was a joke and a half. To take a title away from a guy by a guy who basically did nothing is comical. Yeah he laid some nice leg kicks but that was about all. He took him down after Rampage leg went out and laid on him for four minutes doing nothing but missing punches. To me that was one of the worst decisions in MMA. To take away a guys title when the fight is basically a draw is criminal. To me u got to go get the title. Not some little kicks here and there and a takedown. If i recall Rampage floored Forrest in that flight but as we know u have to floor a guy 15 times to take away a credited takedown for some strange reason.
True that man…perfect example was Faber Cruz in my opinion. Faber dropped him 3 or 4 times and it didn’t get him squat. I too think Rampage won that fight and idk y people keep hating on Rampage. Since he’s been in the UFC he has only lost a bogus decision to Forrest and a borefest to Rashad, He’s whooped everyone else. So idk why the hate but i agree totally.
You cant win a fight when you go an entire round without landing a single strike of any sort and your opponent lands 50 in that same round. Instant 10-8 and there by a loss.
Depending on how long this goes back and forth, any chance DW approaches RC about a fight with Rampage? I think so, but not sure if RC would accept.
he floored forrest very late in round one which forrest won the whole round til that with under a minute to go which forrest got up and finished out the round.. that didnt win the fight dude… forrest won that fight quit cryin
not being rude dude, but i hate people takin credibility away from forrest.. ever since the silva fight.. He earned that belt and won that fight, it dont matter how anybody puts it
I remember listening to Rampage interviewed on Bubba the Love Sponge, giving a prediction on Shogun-Forrest, saying Forrest had no chance and it would be over quick. Not only did Forrest embarrass Shogun, but he parlayed it into taking the title from Rampage.
Listening to Bubba now. Where were you that you can listen to Bubba?
But yea, he’s one of those people that can do something but when its done to him, he cries about it. Its easy to call out an almost 50 year old retired fighter.
Randy is very diplomatic, to paraphrase:
“I thought hamill would eek out a decision in that fight. Those pics are objective and I’m wrong a lot.”
..and Rampage flips out and calls him (a two-division multiple champ hall-of-famer who is RETIRED) a “has been”???
What a jerk. Other than the fact that all retired fighters are clearly has-beens, since that is basically the definition…
Wow!!! I agree Rwmpage should let the whole Randy thing go… But Rampage won the Forest fight!!! If t was by split..
As the site’s foremost Couturian I’m struggling to try and post something powerful and relevent here…but I can’t.
I’d love to shred Jackson for all his shortcomings both in and out of he cage…ESPECIALLY in comparison to Randy Couture…but I can’t.
And I’d love to sh!t all over the occasional poster who decides to adopt the frenZy identity of a “contributor” that nonsensically and habitually disrepsects the Natural…but I can’t.
Its all SO middle school I feel like we’re dealing with a man wearing Disney gear rather than fight gear.
Jackson thinks Couture sucks?
Fine.
Some poster/s think Couture sucks?
Fine, this situation is your moment to “shine” here at the frenZy by sharing your POV with us about how Randy Couture isn’t all you’d like him to be.
If this “beef” is legitimate thats just plain sad.
If this “beef” is some sort of attempt to lure Couture back into the Octagon for a “grudge match” thats even sadder.
Maybe Jackson is legitimately upset, but he should deal with it like a man and not a 12 year old.
Maybe Jackson just assumes along with the majority of MMA observers that he can’t beat Jon Jones, and this is Page’s way of laying the groundwork for his next next fight, one he considers more winnable as the Natural is approaching 50 and is in retirement.
Or maybe this will be one of those Sonnen-esque “my Twitter account was hacked!” deals which will fade into obscurity as soon as the next big MMA development pops up or some other fighter with the emotional make-up of a tweenager takes to his Twitter to “express himself”…
;-)
In my opinion Rampage is a “Big Baby.” Anytime somebody asks him a question he doesn’t like, gives their opinion, or disagrees with him this is the kind of response he gives. Rampage needs to have thicker skin.
That’s was his friend though. It’s not like it’s just an mma analyst. I think he has a very good reason to be upset. Hammill is terrible and his friend said he would lose. That’s not a good friend. Before this post, I thought to myself that it was pretty messed up of Randy to say that beside being a terrible prediction.
I guess it is good that Randy is not bias, but even other people that predict their friends fights either don’t give a straight answer, or predict if a fight goes this way then this person has the advantage, or vice versa. Randy is falling too much into the politics and is not going to have any friends in the business because he’s keeping it toooo real.
How can somebody be an analyst if they can’t give predictions because somebody is a friend? That does not make sense. An analyst’s job is to give his unbiased opinion about a fight and not to be concerned whether he will hurt somebodies feelings. This is business and it is not personal.
actually rich it is personal because they are friends. And Couture is not technically an analyst it’s just his personal opinion. Maybe I’m just sensitive like Rampage is, so I don’t think he’s being a big baby.
Damn rampage not
Everyone has faith in
You. Did the same
Thing to ken flo. As much as I like rampage dude is immature as hell.
Couture was the 1st to do alot in
The UFC and don’t
Think rampage will ever get to
Those crendentials
Stop hitting enter so much.
BIGGEST RAMPAGE FAN EVER!! But he dead wrong on this one!! I believe Rampage doesnt understand the hate and disrespect he gets ever since he entered the UFC. He is a Legend and fells he deserves the same love Chuck or Randy or Wandy gets.. So any time someone ESPECIALLY if he was cool with them says anything against him he Goes off the Deep End!
He’s a very volital guy.. Very Emotional, either he’s very happy and fun or very down and mean! I hate to hear him go off like this I hope they resolve their Issue’s…
If you wanna pis: rampage off, just call him Clinton! Oh yeah, Rampage lost that fight to Forrest. Not very decisively, but he did nevertheless. Btw, I was not rooting for Forrest in that fight either.
Oh Rampage, you such a silly Thug ;)
