UFC matchmaking continues to be in overdrive as it was announced today that Ultimate Fighter alums Clay Harvison (9-3) and DaMarques Johnson (12-9) have verbally agreed to meet in a welterweight bout at UFC Fight Night 25: Battle on the Bayou on September 17 in New Orleans.
Harvison put together an 8-3 record in Georgia-based promotions before appearing on The Ultimate Fighter 13, where he advanced to the quarterfinals before defeating Justin Edwards by split decision in his official UFC debut at the TUF 13 Finale in June
Johnson, a finalist on TUF 9, is 3-3 inside the Octagon and last saw action at UFC Fight Night 24 in March, where he fell to Amir Sadollah by second round submission. Johnson has defeated Edgar Garcia, Brad Blackburn, and Mike Guymon in the UFC
UFC Fight Night 25 will be headlined by a welterweight contest between former Strikeforce champion Jake Shields and rising prospect Jake Ellenberger.
