Bantamweight Johnny Eduardo has signed with the UFC and will make his Octagon debut against fellow Brazilian Raphael Assuncao at UFC 134 on August 27 in Rio de Janeiro, the UFC announced Sunday.
Assuncao (16-4), who was previously scheduled to take on newcomer Darren Uyenoyama, suffered a first-round knockout to Erik Koch in his UFC debut in March after a 3-2 run in the WEC.
Eduardo (25-8) has won 11-straight while fighting primarily in Brazil along with a lone Bellator win.
UFC 134 is headlined by a rematch between UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva vs. Yushin Okami and also features Forrest Griffin vs. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Brendan Schaub vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
