Anthony Pettis vs. Jeremy Stephens Added to UFC 136

A lightweight showdown between Anthony Pettis and Jeremy Stephens has been added to fast-growing UFC 136 fight card. The UFC announced the matchup earlier today.

Pettis (13-2) will be looking bounce back from a loss to Clay Guida at The Ultimate Fighter 13. “Showtime” will also be looking to put himself back in title contention after the former WEC champion lost his guaranteed title shot.

Stephens (20-6) is coming off a dominant victory over Danny Downes at the TUF 13 Finale. The hard-hitting Stephens will be looking for his third straight victory since a contenious split decision loss to Melvin Guillard.

UFC 136 takes place October 8 in Houston, Texas and will be headlined by the long-awaited third fight between UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard, along with featherweight champ Jose Aldo vs. Kenny Florian. The card will also mark the return of the controversial but talented middleweight Chael Sonnen as he faces fast-rising fan favorite Brian Stann.
