The Ultimate Fighter 3 Champion Kendall Grove has been released by the UFC according to his Facebook page. Grove recently lost to Tim Boetsch at UFC 130 by a lopsided unanimous decision, making for his fourth loss in six fights.
Grove was consistently inconsistent since winning the TUF 3 title by defeating Ed Herman in 2006. Grove was 7-6 in his UFC career with notable wins over Alan Belcher and former UFC middleweight champion Evan Tanner, who died a few months later due to extreme heat exposure.
Grove becomes only the third TUF champion to be cut by the UFC, following TUF 4′s Travis Lutter and TUF 8′s Efrain Escudero.

Thats a shame man I like Kendall Grove he was cool, me and my bro used to call him the hawaian stick man.
About time too!!if he hadn’t won the TUF he would have been gone a long time ago
About time too!!
he will be in strike farce now?
@JDUBB
“strike farce” has been put to rest after Zuffa purchased them and the UFC is working with them. The main man that called them “strike farce” was DW and you won’t be seeing him say that again. He and 98% of mma fans now call it “Strikeforce”. The other 2% and you should do the same.
;-)
I’d like to see the UFC send Kendall Grove to Strikeforce. Guys that are doing very well in Strikeforce eventually go to the UFC and guys that aren’t doing to well in the UFC should get a chance in Strikeforce, especially if they’re well known and bring in views. Almost all mma fans know Kendall Grove and a good amount of them like him. Also, I’m pretty sure he would help bring Strikeforce more views. Give him a chance in SF, he deserves it. ;-)
About time!
I’m not sure if Dana White and the Fertitas are down with “feeding” Strikeforce with their cut athletes.
There is also Scott Coker’s POV on the matter to consider. Maybe he doesn’t want Sf looking like the UFC’s catchpan, if you follow.
A guy like Grove has options, for sure.
IMO he could do fairly well in a Bellator tournament and would look like a stud on HDNet.
Its also possible factoring in Grove’s TUF cred that he could simply be “released back into the wild” to sharpen his skills and grab a few solid wins before returning to the big show.
Finally, I’m not sure I get why some fans almost seem to pull for any guy to lose his job in a sh!t economy, let alone an MMA fighter.
To the best of my knowledge Grove isn’t a tool or a douchebag, he’s just another Chute Boxe-inspired guy trying his level best to hang with stronger and more athletic wrestlers in a cage.
No shame in that he can’t, because that striker/submission fighter mash-up ain’t what it used to be in MMA…
