Jonathan Brookins Returns at UFC Fight Night 25, Dropping Back to Featherweight

Jonathan Brookins hasn’t fought since winning The Ultimate Fighter 12 lightweight tournament over Michael Johnson in December, as injuries forced him off April’s UFC 129 and Saturday’s The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale.

Brookins is now scheduled to make his post-TUF debut at “UFC Fight Night 25: Battle on the Bayou” on Sept. 17 in New Orleans, where he plans to return to the 145-pound featherweight division, he recently told MMAjunkie.

However, his opponent has not yet been determined for the Bud Light sponsored, Spike-televised event at the New Orleans Convention Center.

The UFC Fight Night 25 card also includes Alan Belcher vs. Jason MacDonald and Court McGee vs. Dongi Yang.

The Ultimate Fighter 13 winner Tony Ferguson is also considering a drop in weight, from welterweight to lightweight, but hopes to fight fellow TUF winner Amir Sadollah to begin his UFC career.
