A Strikeforce women’s welterweight title bout between champ Marloes Coenen and Miesha Tate and a light heavyweight matchup between “King” Mo Lawal and Roger Gracie have been added to the “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson” fight card on July 30 near Chicago.
Coenen (19-4) claimed the title from Sarah Kaufman in October and defended the 135-pound belt in March over Liz Carmouche, a late-replacement for Tate (11-2), who topped Hitomi Akano in August for her fifth-straight win to earn a title shot.
Lawal (7-1) looks to rebound after dropping the Strikeforce light heavyweight title to Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante in August in his first career loss, while Gracie (4-0) remained unbeaten with a first-round submission of Trevor Prangley in January.
The Showtime-televised event is headlined by a non-title matchup between Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Dan Henderson and Fedor Emelianenko.

Great to see Strikeforce coming back to the Sears Centre. It was a nice treat to see Fedor KO Rogers (as expected) and i plan on seeing this card as well given that I live within a half hour of this place. Although our seats were pretty sweet/free last time, shout out to Donny H!
As for Dana tweeting about Women’s MMA, he said it won’t happen in the UFC, but Zuffa is getting around this by purchasing other companies. Win again for DW and Zuffa? I think so.
