A lightweight matchup between undefeated Canadian John Makdessi and British striker Paul Taylor is in the works for the preliminary card of UFC on Versus 5 on August 14 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, according to Tomas Rios.
Makdessi (9-0) scored a spinning back fist KO of Kyle Watson at UFC 129 in April after successfully making his Octagon debut in September, while Taylor (11-6-1) snapped a two-fight losing skid with a KO of Gabe Ruediger at February’s UFC 126.
The UFC on Versus 5 fight card is headlined by Dan Hardy vs. Chris Lytle and also features Jim Miller vs. Ben Henderson, Stephan Bonnar vs. Karlos Vemola and Amir Sadollah vs. Duane “Bang” Ludwig.
