UFC 133: Evans vs. Davis Announced for Aug. 6 in Philly, Tickets on Sale June 8

Phil Davis“UFC 133: Evans vs. Davis” has been officially announced for August 6 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia with a headlining matchup between light heavyweight contenders Rashad Evans and Phil Davis, plus Rich Franklin vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Vitor Belfort vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama.

Tickets for UFC 133 go on sale to UFC Fight Club members on June 8, UFC newsletter subscribers on June 9, and the general public on June 10.

“The last time we were in Philly, the fans were incredible so we are excited to head back there with a card that features three former world champions,” UFC President Dana White said in the announcement. “Phil is undefeated at 9-0 and has never been more motivated for a fight, and he wants to prove that he belongs atop the light heavyweight division. Rashad is on fire. He wants his title back so badly he can taste it, but he knows before he can get his title shot he has to get through Phil. He wants to win and he wants to win impressively. This is a great fight.”

    it does kinda sound that way. to bad he dont heart Portland as much. the last rose garden event was awesome..except randy lost to nog but still to watch our former home town guy fight was great. hope they r comming back to Oregon soon cuz i can only afford vegas a cpl times a year

    i don’t imagine jackson is afraid of jones but i somehow imagine he’s got a smaller chance against bones than lyoto or rashad.

    yet, i believe this even though rampage beat lyoto.
    Also not to take away from rashad’s victory, but i believe rampage still has the edge against rashad. while rashad earned more points in their fight i just got a sense that rampage was way more dangerous and if he was in the condition he was against hamill as opposed to hollywood ring rusty he’d have won.

    in summary the jackson 2 (gregg jackson) dont gotta get it on. rampage i’m sure does have the hand problem he claims… but still is quite happy to leave the dirty work to lyoto, who actually might match up well, and has been fighting tough opponents of late and might surprise…
