The third meeting between UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and top contender Gray Maynard will have to wait, as injuries to both fighters have forced them out of the scheduled UFC 130 main event, the UFC announced Monday.
A matchup between former light heavyweight champ Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Matt Hamill now headlines the May 28 event in Las Vegas, while Frank Mir vs. Roy Nelson is the co-main event.
A welterweight bout between Thiago Alves and Rick Story has been shifted to fill the pay-per-view main card, which also features Jorge Santiago vs. Brian Stann and Stefan Struve vs. Travis Browne.
It is not yet known what matchup will replace Alves-Story on Spike TV’s UFC 130 Prelims broadcast.
